Agreed , we need a quick YAC guy to compliment the wr's we already have . Sammy Watkins would be perfect.
Like Watkins, think we will have access to more mvaluable players and can go to the top of R2 with our WR needs. We are talking about a 2/3 here not a 1 we are drafting.I saw this yesterday there were 17 WR's drafted in the first 3 rounds last, there are already 15 early entry WR's let alone seniors and that was before anyone from FSU might declare. While OL seems like a bigger need, a future number 1 like Watkins wouldn't be a bad choice. Vjax is getting older, has already lost half a step, and was fighting the injury bug at times this season. While he didnt miss anytime, I'd say the chances of him missing time in 2014 are pretty high. Its scary to think of our offense without him. We have no depth what so ever at WR. What's Watkins ceiling? If its close to a Larry Fitzgerald, then I think he is our guy.
If we need a Left Tackle and a franchise LT is there, you take him. To me, although I would love to have Watkins, if you see that LT there or a QB you really believe will be great , you take that.
While I'd prefer that we address the trenches first(either LT or DE), if we don't do that I'm down with this pick. I'd much rather see us take Watkins than trade the farm to a QB with huge question marks. You want explosive? This guy is explosive, and doesn't come with the baggage or the huge price tag.

I doubt Mathews falls to us and as much as I like Barr, he's best suited for a 3-4 defense.

Total game changer. I agree, safest player in the draft. Kid has all the size, speed, and skills to be special in the NFL.
As much as I'd like to wait to take a receiver later in the draft, Watkins is starting to warm up on me. If we get a pass rusher in FA like Jared Allen, then I'm 100% on board with this pick.
