As much as I'd like to wait to take a receiver later in the draft, Watkins is starting to warm up on me. If we get a pass rusher in FA like Jared Allen, then I'm 100% on board with this pick.

+1I think based on where we pick getting a DE in free agency will be our main mission. Clowney won't get past the Falcons and Bridge, Bortles, and Manziel are most likely gone in the top four picks. Give me a DE and Watkins at #7, I'd be happy. That is if he makes it past Oakland.

Exactly.I was just wondering the other day how come nobody is projecting Watkins to Oakland in their mock drafts. Particularly if he runs a very fast 40 time, I would practically bet the house that Oakland takes him if the QB they like is already gone.

The Raiders better focus on landing that QB they need or that defense that is terrible, another WR high for them would be a waist

Al Davis is DEAD. The Oakland-fast WR thing died with him

+1Watkins just happens to be a beast. I don't see how he makes it past them.

The Fast WR thing is done with Al being deceased, but Watkins is simply a beast and would help them out. I don't see Manziel, Bortles, or Bridge making it to them.

The Oakland drafting speed thing is not just receivers.....do you all think it was just a coincidence that DJ Hayden ran a 4.33 40 at his pro day and Oakland reached big time for him at pick no.12 ???Only time will tell, but so far they are using the same MO as Al did. If you ask me the fruit doesn't fall very far from the tree. Mark Davis is the next Al Davis. Right off the bat, he is showing the exact same tendencies to draft for speed.

Okay, I'm starting to come around on Watkins. If we do get him, I've thought of a good nickname for him: Electro. You know, because Watts like Watkins and electricity and lightning and all that.

If Clowney is on board, I don't see how the Radiers pass on him. That have enough speed WRs

If Clowney, Manziel, Teddy B, or tackle from A&M are gone, and Watkins is sitting there, you draft him.  Simple.I think those five along with Bortles will be gone.We will be stuck choosing between one of the linebacker prospects from UCLA or BAMA, or the the DE from Mizzou (Koney?).  Personally, none of those guys excite me at all.  But again, it is a good thing we got those wins!  All that team spirit and momentum!Bah!

I think it has more to do it Hayden being the best cover corner on tape last year.Their starting DEs combined for 9 sacks this year. But I guess they'll pass on Clowney cuz their dead owner likes speed, right? Ever heard of Kalif Barnes? What about Tony Pashos? Thats the starting tackles. But they'll pass on Matthews and Robinson cuz of their dead owner.Pryor. McGloin. But they won't draft a QB because....?

Having Watkins and Demps on the field at the same time would be comical to watch how a defense would defend that. o.O

Until I see Demps actually show he is a NFL player I remain skeptical on his value.  He was great at UF but has shown nothing as a Pro.Watkins is the choice over everyone but Manziel with the 7th pick... ( he won't be there so it has to be Watkins) Bet Clowney ends up at Atlanta!    He will make a great 3rd down specialist for them and that will allow him not to have take himself out of ball games every other play.
