Well it sounds like next season is already over a complete waste of time. Bowles will be retained and we have enuff talent to win 9 games. Brady is definately gone imo. Next season will be below average Todd getting another chance because of you know why( and I hate to say this but just being honest). In no way, shape, or form does he deserve to coach the bucs next year. Leftwich is the fall guy. Maybe we get Jimmy G and make no mistake we are gonna be a 5-9 win team despite of Bowles. Next season is for sure a waste. The best thing we can hope for next season is to lose and lose miserably! Bowles will stay around like a virus and we will wither in the 5-9 range for years. Sorry to say but this is true. he is lovie smith like.

Team will be boring under Bowles. No Brady next year gonna be a snooze fest and probably not going to win a lot of games. Maybe draft will be fun..

Likely referring to the same reason Arians paved the way for him….

Bowles was a losing Coach with a crummy team in NY and is a losing coach with a good team in Tampa and unfortunately the Bucs won't fire him this year.! Bring in Bill O'Brien as OC and sign Derek Carr. If Brady goes to the Raiders and they sign Gronk then trade for Darren Waller.

@Blayton Cigsby  Great post about Tom Brady.  It seems that at 45 years old Tom Brady is finally falling off. Is that because his offensive line was complete horse shit this year?  Is that because he didn't have Gronk?  Is that because he is 45 years old?  Is that because he went through a divorce and missed a good chunk of training camp?  Is that because he retired for 40 days at beginning of off season and caused the Bucs to focus on life after Brady rather then how to make team stronger for Brady for 40 full days?  More than likely we will never know the answer to these questions.

Tom will more than likely be on a new team or retired next year.  If Tom wanted to come back and we build around him for next year, I think we have a chance to see 43 year old Brady.

You are right The offense was completely inept and horrible last night, but our defense was worse.  This is why Toilet Bowles and his full staff including Byron Shitwich need to be dismissed.  Toilet Bowles is a defensive coordinator, he is not a head coach.

Sadly, he will be back.

The interception in the end zone was PA, I think lol

From the replay I saw, it looked more like RPO and Godwin was the only one running an actual route.

The thing is, White is to his left and the direction of his run is right, which would pull every LB directly into the path of the passing route. Again, horrible play design.

Now, to pass equal blame, Brady should’ve known that and opted to hand it off and hope for the best.

But, to your original point, which was you laughing at a self-perceived “gotcha” moment. It was ONE PLAY. Brady had gone how long without a RZ pick?

You can have that one play for your argument against PA.

I’ll take the ENTIRE SEASON where going into Week 16, we were Top-5 in every meaningful efficiency metric for play action…despite the fact we had a historically bad running game. We were also bottom of the league in PA usage.

This is not a Brady thing. This is not an execution thing. This was an offensive coordinator who was too fucking stupid to know these basic metrics/stats/facts…or who was simply too stubborn to care. My guess it’s 60/40.

the POINT is that IF a team is the WORST running team in the league and they have very few underneath weapons but good deep weapons like Evans then you do EXACTLY what the Cowboys did to the Bucs, rush four and sit back in a shell.

And the POINT is that you can still beat that if you can’t effectively rush the ball.

Again, you run play action. You sprinkle in more uptempo. You mix in different route concepts. You get creative.

You don’t need freaking All-Pros across your receiving corp to accomplish this.

Look at the Chiefs for example. Outside of Kelce, give me one receiver even in the same conversation of Evans or Godwin.

Yet, they are WIDE OPEN within 2-3 seconds of the snap. Why is that?

Last night the Cowboys drives include many things the Bucs do wrong like 1st down runs and penalties.

Yeah, it also included multiple different route combos, misdirection, mesh/run/pick/etc. combos that essentially beat the same coverage you’re talking about.

I mean, of course there’s execution issues. Every team has them.

But, the OVERWHELMING REASON we were as bad as we were this year offensively was due to Byron’s ineptitude as a play caller and offensive coordinator.

Im not even sure how it’s an argument at this point.

Jesus…Koetter did more with less.

I love how the dumbass duo doesn’t consider the OC’s lack of creativity in the run game a big reason it’s pretty easy to stop the Buccaneers run game. It’s like the only football these slapnuts watch is Tampa’s. Look around college and NFL. Other teams don’t slam it between tackles 95% of the time. Opposing defenders called out run plays and where they were going before the snap multiple times this year.

The continued defense of Leftwich show an extreme lack of knowledge. I’m embarrassed for them.

Good grief, it wasn't a gotcha moment, its was IRONY.

The point is ANYONE can generically argue something like "we need more PA," but PA is mostly driven by the CIRCUMSTANCES and so when you look at the Bucs PA numbers for a full game or season you are always going to be able to generically say "MORE PA," but less so if you are looking at the actual plays because the Bucs are often behind, playing catch up etc.

So, in the Dallas game as an example there is a big difference between the 1st play on offense and all plays from about mid-3rd quarter on BECAUSE the Bucs are way behind and have been ineffective mostly running and are often behind in D&D. ie they are ONE DIMENSIONAL all passing.

More importantly though . .  if you think we lose like that to Dallas because we didn't run enough PA , as opposed to our own defense being dragged down the field for 60,70 and 80 yard TDs . .  then you're just arguing tio argue your own thoughts about Leftwich, not about the REALITY on the field.  The "we need more PA" argument as a response to the the Dallas game is sort of like suggesting Bowles should have fired Leftwich mid-season because many OCs would get 25+ points out of this offense.  Its a JC5100-eseque argument (ie interesting maybe, but totally disconnected from reality)

Buggsy you should be careful around heavy equipment because you clearly cannot READ. This was posted yesterday

"As a result, the Bucs had one of the most dangerous passing games in the league for nearly two years, with Brady throwing 83 touchdowns from 2020-21. But when Brown quit on the team late last year, Gronkowski and Pro Bowl left guard Ali Marpet retired, and Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen missed the regular season, Leftwich’s offense couldn’t simply out-talent the opposition.

Instead, the Bucs needed Leftwich to scheme Evans and Godwin, who was coming off a torn ACL from late in the 2021 season, open and get more creative with the play-calling. Both Bowles and Brady wanted the Bucs to run the ball more and be more balanced on offense after Brady led the league in pass attempts and completions in 2021 at age 44. None of that happened, and the Bucs struggled with predictable play-calling, which led to poor third down and red zone efficiency as a result.'

And by the way you keep falsely posting "defense of Leftwich" because your PEA BRAIN cant handle the conversation. "Defense of Leftwich" is an attempt to shut down a conversation that keep outing you as the clown that you are

This may be right. Not sure why raising the other issues becomes "either/or."  My position is almost exactly SRs position:

Bowles is a lame duck. He will be gone by this time next year

Kyle Trask + Gabbert leading us to a top 3 selection.

Buckle up for the Caleb Williams race
