Evans thinks we are a SB contender and Mayfield is elite!
Lol.
Evans also said, “Winston is ABSOLUTELY a franchise quarterback”.
Glad he’s back.
this move was about Mike wanting to remain in Tampa and continue his legacy plus at $26M a year is not disrespectful and he has earned it.
in terms of playing with an ELITE QB and SUPERBOWL; i'm afraid only one team fits that bill for sure - Mahomes and the Chiefs. Teams like Baltimore, 49ers, Buffalo, New York Jets, and Houston offer opportunities but no guarantee to get there as one would have better odds with the Chiefs.
i do think Evans enjoyed playing with Mayfield this year and they have good chemistry so i dont think anyone would disagree with that.
Bucs need to draft some game changers like they did in 2020 with Winfield and Wirfs if they want to be back in the Superbowl. It's a tall task but in the NFC, they will be competitive, i just wouldn't waste $100 bet on them to win the Superbowl next year lol (and that isnt anything negative about Evans or Mayfield; just the talent on the roster, coaching staff, and general landscape of the NFL versus what the Bucs are now)

100%
"As reported, Evans will receive $29 million in the first year but the real magic here is how the Bucs are structuring the deal. Evans will only count about $5.5 million against the ‘24 cap through the usage of void years. Licht, Greenberg and Davidson are cap wizards."

"Breaking down Buccaneers Mike Evans' $52 million max value deal: base value $41M with $35M gtd, 80 pct of base value is gtd, $21.79M roster bonus 2024 for accounting purposes instead of signing bonus, $1.21M fully gtd 2024 base salary for $23M gtd fully in 2024 total comp.
Mike Evans' $18M salary 2025, can be $21M salary with likely to be earned $3M escalator if hits 70 catches, 1,000 yds, 10 TDs. To make full $52 million, has to trigger $2 million annual incentive for being ranked in top 10 in catches, yds and TDs, and annual playoff incentive $2M.
On Mike Evans' annual playoff incentive: 65 percent of offensive snaps and active for each game, $500,000 per playoff victory
There is a $6 million 2025 bonus to be paid in 2024, as well as three voidable years for salary cap purposes"
- Per Aaron Wilson via Twitter
"Cap hits should be:
2024: $5.568M
2025: $22.358M
2026 (dead cap): $13.074M
2025 goes up if he hits escalators. Very reasonable."

I don't think the Bucs can afford to give him a big contract when his skills are diminishing and his injuries mount as they will do when players get older. The Bucs can't plan on Godwin to be their #2 past this year. I agree that they will probably draft a WR, but it might not be until the middle of the draft. Lets not forget the Bucs are trying to establish a balanced offense complementary of the defense. Don't be surprised if they go with a low budget free agent and mid to late round picks rather than splurge a high pick on a WR.I think Godwin walks next year
We'll see what happens in the free agent market, but I'd rather see the Bucs invest in a TE than a WR. It's less glamorous, but the Bucs missed having that big dude who can block and catch passes. You aren't likely to find another Gronk. But Ben Sinnott had a good Senior Bowl. He could be a Round 3 pick.
mike is one of our all time greats, same level as leeroy, derrick, ronde ... you can't let him go. lavonte is another one and he's got to get at least one more year
and his first TD under new contract is going to be his 100th 😀 😎 👍 👍 👍
I agree that they will probably draft a WR, but it might not be until the middle of the draft.
I hope you're correct, but I have seen a few mock drafts that have us selecting a WR with our first pick. I wish there was some way we could address our need for an edge rusher in the draft, but at our position in the draft I just don't think it will be possible.
noone realized mike caught his 100th TD vs. washington?
His first TD is a great throw but even so not many receivers make that catch fighting through the defender like that.
amazing and great to see him and Godwin playing well
Incorrect, that was his 96thnoone realized mike caught his 100th TD vs. washington?

no, you are wrong. he caught TDs no. 100 and 101. don't take him playoff TDs away!
first one (100th) was simply great, true Mike Evans 👍 👍 👍
Unlike college where bowl game/playoff stats count toward official stats the NFL for as long as I can remember only count regular season stats. So while it may have been 100-101 that he has caught combined since entering the league, it was only 96-97 that are "official"
