bowles a reason for him leaving, not for him losing to Father Time tho

Cool story, bro.

Barring a broken collarbone and Liam as the HC/OC this past season, he goes for 1000 and 10.

Father Time didn’t slow him down last year. A dogshit HC and freak injury did.

Don't bring that lame argument

Answer the question, kiddo.

How many times has he missed that many games in his 12-year career?

The question is how will he perform in the future?  What he did in his prime is irrelevant to that.  The question to ask is whether Evans is one of those receivers who can beat father time like a Larry Fitzgerald or Terrell Owens.  Or will he be someone who tries and fails to defy the odds like Julio Jones. Last year he played 8 games.  Thats more a more important indicator of the future and whether he'll beat Father Time than the entire decade before that.  I hope Evans does well for the Niners, but I'm not betting on it and neither should the Bucs.

NFL wide receivers typically begin to show a noticeable decline in production after age 29, with a more significant "cliff" in performance often occurring around age 31 or 32. While prime performance generally lasts from ages 23 to 29, elite, high-level receivers can remain productive and maintain WR1/WR2 value until roughly 33 to 35 years old.

Apex Fantasy Football Money Leagues +3
Key Takeaways on WR Aging:
  • Prime Age: 23–29 years old.
  • Initial Decline: Noticeable drop-offs often start around age 29–30.
  • The "Cliff": Performance drops significantly after age 31–32.
  • Elite Exceptions: Elite, top-tier receivers may maintain productivity until age 35 or 36, such as Larry Fitzgerald or Terrell Owens.
  • Fantasy Impact: While 28-29 is a common "fear" age, data suggests many receivers remain valuable up to age 31-32, with only a very small percentage (less than 2% of seasons) maintaining high-level production past 34.

ME may end up being more productive than most of the 49ers WRs recently so it can go either way.  I think ME will thrive in that offense and drier weather may help with his hamstring issues.

So, per usual, you’ve got nothing.

That’s what I thought.

rather pedestrian before the injury, one great game upon his return and pedestrian again

was it all offense coordinator? None of bakers fault? None of Evan’s aging?

Say you didn’t watch the games without saying you didn’t watch the games.

Again, you said “he’s washed”. Your words.

So, according to you then, we’re better without him.

Guess we’ll see.

and don’t take me wrong, I’m devastated and coping right now

Going to be hard taking Bucs seriously next year. The wind on my sales is deflated and Bucs fandom is at a low haven’t seen since pre Arians days

I’m just saying Mike isn’t the guy he used to be and wasn’t going to break 1,000 yards last year even without the collarbone injury (speculation of course)

doesn't mean he still isn’t a weapon

knew this day was coming likely when Bucs took edbuka last year

we are a better team with Evan’s but need to see how the price per year shakes out

20m a year for a shell of his former self is insane; but maybe that’s with a lot of incentives

either way he chose a better team over Bucs

and Bucs retaining Bowles likely played a part into that.

I don’t understand how it is so downplayed.

It’s ironic the majority are also Bowles’ biggest cheerleaders.

So, with that said, let’s look at reality of this.

After 12 years of bad coaches, bad QB’s and bad rosters; the face of the franchise just said, “I’m done here”.

After a season, where the team quit on their HC, the one person who actually gave a shit about winning, just said “I’m done here”.

What’s the temperature of that locker room now?

This team was at a crossroads last offseason and the Glazers royally fucked it up. This is the result.

But, he’s “washed”.

So, how would we be better?

Bottom line is ME is one of the few players that did not quit.  He came back from injury and played down the stretch when he could have shut himself down for the year and guaranteed his health for free agency.

Meanwhile the Bucs haven't moved on from the players that quit so far on the roster or are mid at best.

I don't believe the decision was based on money. In fact, it's clear it wasn't. He wanted to go to a team with more potential to win a Super Bowl. Better HC. Better play caller. Better QB. Better defense. Better overall coaching. Can't blame the guy one bit for leaving. Godspeed Mike Evans.

yeah he wanted to play meaningful football and went to a wr needy team

49ers better than Bucs in every facet except weather and taxes

and the 49ers, with much better coaching and a lot of injuries, finished with a winning record and made the playoffs

“The 49ers deal with WR Mike Evans is a 3-year contract that's worth $42.4M with $16.3M guaranteed.

There are incentives where he could earn way more”

This just shows you how he thought of Todd and this staff.

He was still dusting CB’s before the injury - much younger CB’s. I think his age affected his recovery from injury more than his actual play.
