Ex-player Roy Miller a leader for JagsIra Kaufman | Tribune Staff Published: October 9, 2015Roy_Zpsz7Isvtfv.jpgTAMPA — Jacksonville’s Roy Miller has been credited with only eight tackles and one sack through four games, but the former Bucs defensive tackle has had a major impact as a leader.“He’s unbelievable,’’ Jags coach Gus Bradley said. “Roy touches everybody — the way he interacts with the defense, the offensive players. It’s not like he’s loud or boisterous or anything like that, but he’s a highly, highly respected individual in our locker room.”Miller was selected by Tampa Bay in the third round of the 2009 draft and played four years in Tampa before signing with Jacksonville as a free agent. In 2014, he agreed to a four-year extension with the Jags.“I’ve known Roy since high school,’’ Bucs Pro Bowl DT Gerald McCoy said. “He holds down the middle ... always has. Once I saw that he got the new contract, I don’t think anybody besides his family was happier for him than me.’’Stat of the dayWith 13 100-yard receiving games as a Buccaneer, veteran WR Vincent Jackson needs three more to surpass Mark Carrier (1987-92) for the most in franchise history.Quote of the day“We know that we’re a good football team with a 1-3 record. Jacksonville is saying the same thing.’’— Bucs coach Lovie SmithUpcoming scheduleSunday: Jacksonville, 1 p.m. (CBS, Ch. 10)Oct. 18: ByeOct. 25: at Washington, 1 p.m. (Fox, Ch. 13)Nov. 1: at Atlanta, 1 p.m. (Fox, Ch. 13)
