There’s too many threads to go through and elaborate on each post so I’ll just post one that touches on all my thoughts...
Jameis played better today than I’ve seen him play in a long time. Outside of the missed TD to Brate on the first drive, the bad decision to throw to Mike deep that was a dropped pic (DJ was WIDE open) and a couple missed deep shots... he played his best ball in a while. He finally started spreading the ball to everyone and got DJ going early.
I don’t blame much of anything on Dirk. He called a game well enough to put up 27 points on the league’s best defense that only gave up 15 per game coming in. The players also didn’t execute several plays that left points out there. (The above mentioned missed TD pass. Adam’s fumble). All season the plays have been there... the players just haven’t executed.
We seem to finally have a kicker. If Murray had never left we may have won several more games over the past 2 years and definitely the Pats game.
Mike Smith is Lovie 2.0. Players constantly miss tackles, are out of position, blow assignments and the unit as a whole has regressed. He does not put the best players on the field nor does he put them in the best position to win. We have so many square pegs that he tries to force into round holes it’s ridiculous. Hopefully Dirk can find a quality DC somewhere around the league because Mike is holding this unit back.
Lavonte has played very well of late. The only defensive player I can see that really has any desire out there. That’s speaking about Kwon also. He was invensible today... other than tackling air.
If this offense could put together 4 QTRS each week we could see 35 or more points each week... but with this defense we’d still loose some of those.
EDIT: Stop rotating our secondary guys. Conte/Tandy have been shit for 2 years. Put Ward and Evans out there with Evans deep and Ward in the box and let them make plays.
