Knee Jerk Rant incoming...
This is a new take for me. but Im witnessing a team that has so many offensive weapons that actually become a waste of resources while the team is simultaneously a bad football team. We have a completely uncoverable TE whos only averaging 4 targets a game. Tony Gonz at age 37 years old in 2013 was averaging 7.5 targets... Do we need to target Howard more??? you probably said yes in your head but we dont.. were throwing the ball for 400 yards every game like its nothing.. Mike Evans is one of the best WR is the game but does it matter? we just moved the ball at will yesterday without him. Godwin looks like a number 1 WR everytime hes targeted. Hump has grown into one of the better slot guys in the league. we have Djax whos clearly still as fast as ever but we can hardly get him the ball. and our probowl caliber TE Brate is hardly part of the game plan.. yet the most import parts of a football team looks like crap, the Oline and the Dline. Licht has wasted resources like mad, i dont know why hes still at One Buc place this week.
My new thinking is that every single player on this team should be up for sale.. Even the guys we love like Mike Evans. obviously not multiple of the same position.. if evans was traded then Godwin is not up for sale of course.. if howard was moved then brate is not up for sale.. but the entire team should be reformed even if it means some of our favorite guys are no longer around.
a rough hardly thought out plan from me would be - New GM, go after John Harbaugh, Move up for Nick Bosa using whatever needed, Move Mike Evans because hes a waste here and hes has sky high trade value... could sucker a team into a crazy trade for him.. Move McCoy for what you can get. move on from Djax. lets Grandpa Grimes retire, get these TO machine QBs out of here. Then let Harbaugh and new GM work with tons of capspace to reform this team with a new identity while still having some quality peices on both sides (the TEs, Godwin, LVD, JPP and some young secondary guys).
