With Wirfs and Winfield of course you could reduce the cap hit for 2024 but you'd be pushing a lot of money down the road, which you already did with Evans and Mayfield.
That is precisely what they’re going to, and SHOULD do. They aren’t tapped out at all. Vita Vea will also clear some room. I have no problem kicking the can a little bit (with no void years) on youngish player we plan on sticking around a long time
seeing the Pewter report headline "is this Litch's best offseason ever" is a bit of a stretch
this team was good enough to go 9-8 last year.
we added Whitehead, lost Davis essentially.
that would have to be arguably 2020 - getting Brady and Gronk, drafting Wirfs and Winfield or 2021 when they brought everyone back.
bringing back everyone is great but it's essentially avoiding disaster by losing guys like Mayfield, Evans, or Winfield.
again, need to see the complete picture as only a few days in, but that headline was a bit premature, no?
this team hasn't done anything to separate themselves from Atlanta or New Orleans.
I see you halfway on this. Although I think retaining the guys they have, at the price they got them at has been nothing short of kick ass! The work is not done yet, like you said beyond Whitehead we haven’t seen those 2nd and 3rd wave free agents and then also what we do in the draft. But the team will inevitably fill those holes in the coming days. Just got breathe. Winfield extension incoming
If you are using the Spotrac numbers they haven't updated Gage yet, which would save about $10 mil. As for the restructuring I agree they need to tread carefully.
Yeah. I was going off numbers Auman posted. My bad, should've clarified.
Vea's already been restructured once a couple years ago, but you could do it again. He's pretty reliable.
Dean you could restructure but how much money do you want to guarantee for him? Right now you could get out of his contract pretty easily after this year if you had to with a $6 mil dead money hit. If you restructure you'd have to guarantee him more future money.
Vea has actually restructured twice (converting portions of his 2022 and 2023 base into bonus).
I wouldn't touch Godwin. Already carrying a big dead cap hit and he won't be here next year anyways.
Dean, same thing. He won't be here.

This is the most likely route, as they want to lock them up long term. I don't mind pushing money down the road for young, elite, "best at their position" type players (especially ones we drafted.
Mike checks a few of the boxes.
Baker doesn't really check any of them.
But, AWJ and Wirfs checks them all.
I'm good with both Mike and Baker's deals, and I'm sure the ones Wirfs and Winfield sign will be good.
So it seems like they should have cap room with the increased cap and getting rid of Brady and company's dead money. But apparently that money is already spent. We're done tapped out already!
Tried saying this last year and was laughed at.
I mean, we did have room, but where did you think the money was going? Obviously, it allowed us to re-sign the pieces. But, it was always known that we wouldn't have much left over. And, here we are.
solid observations here ^
but i mean after those moves are made we’ll have plenty of cap space to upgrade 3 spots in free agency which should allow us some flexibility in the draft. This team is steadily making the right moves and I don’t see the cap situation as dire

Barring a deal for Sweat or Riddick, I don't see anything big incoming.
We'll pick up some 2nd and 3rd wave guys for depth, or ones that are promising.
CB, EDGE, iOL will be prioritized in the draft. Hoping a QB slides and we can trade out of the 1st round (and net another 3rd...or more...wishful thinking...LOL).
We can still find REALLY good talent in R2-R3.

No doubt.
I'm just curious as to how much cap they'd want to open up (for this season).
Some idiot on Twitter claiming the Bucs signed Devin White and it’s being shared everywhere on Reddit. I’m getting reamed by telling everyone it’s bullshit
Devin White to the Eagles on a 1/yr - $7.5M (max) deal.
Bet he wishes he was back on that 5th year option now 🤣
@donkey_hunter sorry didn’t see you posted that already didn’t require a new topic from me smh
@donkey_hunter sorry didn’t see you posted that already didn’t require a new topic from me smh
No worries at all!
Will probably get more traction on your thread anyways!
I'd love if we could get Stephon Gilmore now on 1 yr deal.
remaining holes
RB - would argue we could have done better than Edmonds but looks like they are content here
TE - could use another TE to push Otton
OG
C
ILB - are we going with Britt?
Edge - Yaya has got one spot but we could use some help here
CB - losing Davis creates a void
we also have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds so imagine we could see those picks addressing these 7 positions.
add a WR to your list, a new returner and more depth at QB (Wolford?), RB, TE, OG, DL and CB.
The #Bucs keep another one home: Sources say they agree to terms with their own star LB Lavonte David, who gets a 1-year deal worth up to $10M. The base value is around $9M.
hell ya!!!!
Devin White to the Eagles on a 1/yr - $7.5M (max) deal.
Granddaddy Lavonte David is getting 33% more than Devin White in his prime. Just as it should be.
