They blitzed all day and we dialed up 1 screen to White. Like we shoulda had more blitz beaters. I was more disappointed in Bowles though and his unit.

Agreed
its a strange game though because we cannot keep up.
We have White running at something like a 6 yard average BUT we still throw 40 plus times because we cant get stops in the middle of they game. They go TD, TD TD, I think
They have great OC but we also have a couple GLARING weaknesses on D
Tough loss
On that play Godwin does beat his guy but weirdly he and Otton are going to the same spot so someone is off. Either way its a last minutes drive so
The soul crushing pick from Mayfield, with Godwin open.
Defense = Mayfield's fault
Great take
I didn’t put the game on Baker, Mrs. Mayfield. Calm down, lady.
But the defense did get a stop and gave the offense a chance to tie. And if I’m not mistaken, the defense didn’t miss an open Chris Godwin and instead throw the ball to the other team at the end of the game.
Your hubby didn’t play badly today, but he wasn’t great either. It’s fair to say this is a team loss. Detroit is better. I’m glad the Bucs had a shot in the fourth quarter.

the defense gave up three TD drives in a row. 65 yard 75 and 80 yards or close to that. Whole field drives, not short field
thats why we were having to come back and also why we were having to sling it all over
and yet the desperation drive td is "soul crushing" not getting gang raped by their offense?
lmao

The next time you have an insightful post will be your first. If I ever want a simpleton’s opinion, I know where to come.
JFC.....Mrs. Mayfield... ooo, that hurts... seriously juvenile
What are you, 12~?
The pass D has been nothing short of pathetic the entire season and if not for that they would have beaten Houston
Ranked 31st in pre season... whining about an Int when down 2 TD's with 6 minutes left in their 2nd playoff game... priceless
Defense lost this game... defense..not the QB .... maybe Evans for dropping passes or is he off limits because of stature~?
No TE that makes plays,OL is weak up the middle....
Weak at the edges on D, DB's are ordinary outside of Winfield
Bringing up the one fault of the QB is ludicrous.... why were there two receivers in the same spot is the issue~?

maybe when the team is young?
and the playoffs matter?
Btw, didnt you want to bench Mayfield IN OCTOBER?
why were there two receivers in the same spot is the issue~?
The QB throwing to WR that was covered instead of your stud WR that wasn’t covered isn’t the issue, Mrs. Mayfield? The loyalty to your man is admirable.
Bringing up the one fault of the QB is ludicrous
Lolz
You are one funny chick.
the defense doesnt have it today, this is going to get ugly
we lost first because of the Refs
Second because the defense was soft in the middle and our CB were not playing to their strengths, that’s coaching. I think Bowles and co will learn from this, we basically outplayed them all game until..
3rd. To my eyes, Bakers 5th bad pass of the game…he did almost everything right aside from that throw especially aaaand taking a few too many sacks, some on him and some on the oline…with that being said, some of his scrambles and throw always were a thing of beauty. He typically got us in to the right play, he just needed to connect on a few more, the refs SCREWED US!!! Vomit inducing referring!!!1
anyhoo, offseason begins now. Take a nice long break, then come back just as focused and hungry as you feel at this moment. Shrug off the defeat and chop it up to a growth experience. ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A SINGLE SEASON!!!-well except for the Pats run with the GOAT.
corner blitz and pressures and yet 0 adjustments.
Thats the QB and/or the OC but I mean we had two plays woith their DE unblocked. One of them our RT knows immediately becaue his first step is INSIDE to a blocked DT
Thye are the better tam though, if we are being fair. All around better. Didnt they score on 3 straight drives?
I think its Baker at the line, he's making calls that lean towards aggression and using himself as the one to pass the ball and take the hit, its gutsy, but try and limit it for your own health.
Baker played fantastic. Not ok. Not good. He was fantastic. The first pick was bad luck on a slightly high throw. 2nd pick was a mistake for sure but also the LB just made a great play.
Canales was ok but left a lot to be desired... he will learn. He called the great screen against the blitz but didn't really call anything outside of that. No answer just like Bowles. Too conservative first half... didn't take enough shots deep but when we did it worked.
Again not terrible but not great. He will learn and improve.
Defense and Bowles were pathetic. Dean getting hurt killed us.
The calls were pretty one sided... the clear hold on the 4th down TD run was egregious.
Tough loss especially because the offense did enough but the defense was just playing soft coverage all day.
I had to finish the 4th on DVR after eating. Made me want to puke. We lost this game for several reasons. Defense should have been playing a ton of man as the Lions just don't have a lot of receivers that can kill us if we play them tight. But, Zone we went and the TD's started flowing for them. We did, however, hold them to one of their lowest stat totals in the first half, but were only tied because of a high pass that Evans let bounce off his hands for a pick and Mayfield failed to find ways to beat them through a chunk of the early drives. Then we have a nice TD drive late to tie. Baker was off on a good chunk of plays and that hurt us. The offensive line was getting confused on blocking assignments, and that hurt our defense. We also failed to get some other guys more consistently involved, tried to use Thompkins, which is always a key for the defense (it's going to him), and didn't put Moore in there until wait too late. This game was just a mess. We held in there, but a mess none the less.
Lots of inconsistent play from everyone today.
Went to friends in Seminole to watch then game. Disappointing Loss. The reality is the better team won. Their defense was better than our offense. Their offense was better than our defense. My biggest disappointment was that the defense couldn't get pressure on Goff. He just sat back there and carved up the Bucs defense over and over. This coaching staff should know better. When Goff was with the Rams during Brady's first season, he tore up the Bucs defense. Then earlier this season, Goff had his best game of the year against the Bucs defense. Our coaches' and team's inability to figure out how to defend Goff is glaringly bad. The defense clearly ran out of gas in the fourth quarter. Don't blame this loss on Canales, Mayfield, or the offense. Sure they struggled for much of the game, but they were facing a well-coached defense with a great game plan.
This team exceeded expectations. Unfortunately, they have a first place division schedule again next year. It will be an uphill battle all year long. But if the Bucs draft wisely and acquire some good players through FA, they should plug some holes, and they should be competitive again. GO BUCS!!!
