Well we know the Bucs met with him at the east-west shrine game week and according to walterfootball the Bucs met with him again at the senior bowl. He's the only name down for the Bucs. Now I don't know if we draft him but I think it's telling that the team is lookingvtovdraftca QB fairly high.
Everything at the Senior Bowl is Carr 1 and Garrapolo 2 in terms of the QBs...all the ones on the north sound like total trash,
Interesting comparisons in those SI arlicles...Would you rather have Stafford (Carr) or Romo (Garoppolo) ?
I'll take Romo

Trade #7 away for more picks. Trade down in the mid-late first and take Garrapolo.

I can see that approach being successful, might be tough if a guy like Robinson is there but then again if you are playing for the franchise QB that > than even the franchise LOT.
Bruce Grads deluxe?I am intrigued by this guy. I think I would prefer him a great deal over Carr, as the investment would be less, the upside is very high, and he wouldn't be forced to play as a result of draft position. He would be allowed to battle it out in a new system with basically another rookie in Glennon. If the Bucs can manage to draft Watkins and Garrapolo (sp), I would be alright with the thinking. Get a high upside wideout,l who brings much needed speed to the open space element that Tedford Ruxpin is a proponent of. And Garrap is ideal for the quick hit game, the quick fire element that allows for a system like Tedfords to thrive. The Bucs O-line is a heaping mess though...they need to add some thunder to that group, and hope that the person drafted or signed helps alleviate what ails the offense.
I am apparently the board honk on JG... I am cool with it, however I am rarely rightin my guesses beyond the first rounder.I agree ... I think the most logical shot we have is to trade out and pick him up in the late first. If we are thinking like everyone else that needs a QB, we will need to get in front of them. I personally think we have to get in front of the Cards at 20... I could easily see nbrs 12 -19 wanting to trade up.Hope Licht is as good as people say... Interesting that who I perceive as the first 'opponent' to getting this guy is our new GMs old job...
I really want to see how Carr and Gaoppolo look against some top flight competition.
Id be interested to see what Carr looks like when he has to throw the ball more than 2 yards.
Not sure if you're being serious here.
Considering literally 60% of his passes were thrown no further than 5 yards, I'm serious. Whenever I watched him, he throws nothing but screens and quick slants, and when he did throw 10-15 yard passes he was often overthrowing his guys. Jdub posted the article of the QB analysis that supported this. the 60% isnt coming from me, it is fact.
Not sure if Comrade ever actually watched Fresno State games.
Not sure if the fascist realizes that the offensive design and Carr's ability to throw deep have nothing to do with one another.
@nfldraftscout Carr isn't just the best QB here. He's the best player here. Absolutely looks the part of franchise QB. https://twitter.com/nfldraftscout/status/425732848130461696 @nfldraftscout Second-best quarterback in Mobile, by far, has been Jimmy Garoppolo. Spinning the ball, quick & compact release. Like him a lot. https://twitter.com/nfldraftscout/status/425862374873001985
I like Garopollo, but he does not have the arm talent that Carr has. That said, I wouldn't cry in my soup if we drafted either one.

Hmmmmmm....Red Board laughs at your tweets!Obviously the USC game told Red Board everything it needs to know!

Carr and Vanderbilt wide receiver Jordan Matthews have been staying after practice every day working on their timing at the Senior Bowl, which is a first. That type of work ethic is making a favorable impression on NFL teams.Or here is another QB/WR option. The two hardest workers at the senior bowl

I wuld not be sad if that was our #1 and #2 picks playing together. I like Carr but I really think Matthews will be a great player.

Curious to see Mathews at the combine. I've read a lot over the past two days about how Matthews looks very slow and can't beat press coverage or get separation.

Jimmy Garappolo, Eastern IllinoisGarappolo made the most of his late invite to the Senior Bowl by producing a solid week of practice. He doesn't have a huge arm but he has the best footwork among this group of quarterbacks. He is very quick moving away from center and does a nice job of driving off his back foot on every throw. He had a quiet game (6 of 11 for 32 yards), choosing to check the ball down instead of attacking vertically. Most teams I've spoken with have him slotted in or around the third round.
So we'd have to take him in the 2nd
