Glennon is the check down machine. He'd thrive in Gruden's old offense.Brian Griese ball.
Brad Johnson did too.

Certainly. But, how today's league is set up rule wise its tailored to a more aggressive passing game.
Dree Brees had a 6.2 and 5.9 yd/attempt average in his 2nd and 3rd years. He only played one game as a rookie. Talk about a check down machine. I guess players can actually get better.
PFF is a joke. They put out trash.
No they don't. Unlike fans, PFF can look at play without the coloring of bias or emotion...just cold hard math. A lot of people say they put out trash because their emotional or preconceived view points don't often line up with PFF analysis of certain players ie Joseph has sucked for years and PFF has reflected this yet many fans always thought that he was a top guard....only now that it's soooo obvious that it can no longer be ignored do people realize.
Pretty hard to do Math when you don't know half of the equasion. They don't know the playcall, the read, the snap count, and/or any options that the QB actually has. They try hard, but It's bullshit, it just doesn't pass the eye test 90 percent of the time. This guy out played this guy blah blah, when you watched the game it was clearly the opposite.
No one outplayed Brees and no one is saying he did. But when you watched the game Glennon played much better than previously and the grade does agree. Stats are shit, Glennon stood in the pocket better, got rid of the ball quicker, i saw him throw behind blitzes unsuccessfully several times. Those things are the reason he graded well.

remind me...the new passing rules weren't in place in his 2nd or 3rd years or nah? I'm pretty sure its the former. Since his 2nd and 3rd years took place in 2002 and 2003.

Oh I see. Andrew Luck was at 6.71 last year and is below 7 again this year. Is he a check down machine? Let me guess, he beat a bunch of bad teams last year so that stat doesn't matter.
Glennon was coached to not throw risky passes, that's pretty clear, and a pretty big challenge when you only have one established weapon. Glennon is very smart, has a strong arm, and good mobility. I really don't get the hate.
You guys have no idea what Glennon is going to be, honestly, we're all clueless but to think you know what he is next year, or his 3rd year or 4th year is just dumb. I watch Glenon and I think he has the talent, needs work, but has the talent. Your stats mean nothing because all of those stats are very reliant on blocking, WR, run after catch, etc... All of which we were terrible with all year. Mike needs to slow the game down and be able to see things quicker, can he, will be be able to? Who knows, but he has all the physical ability and if you can't see it, you're not looking at the right things.

Most people are going strictly off of the team's record and the fact that Glennon doesn't run a 4.4 in the 40. I hate to say it but thanks to fantasy football and Madden most fans know little about how football actually works. A prime example is all the people that swear you can't win with a defensive team and yet many teams in the NFL do just that.
I agree, we don't know what Glennon will be but I have yet to see him do anything that makes me think he's the one. Zero flashes of brilliance. Guys like Andrew Luck are just carrying their teams to win. Glennon didn't do that at all. My point is you HAVE to keep trying to find that game changer at QB and Glennon hasn't shown enough to stop that process.
Hold on was this post from today? You have to be crazy to think glennon actually played good last sunday. Pff stats don't pass my eyetest. Because my eyetest said the saints blew us out the water and drew brees had 4 tds the first half. My eyetest also told me that even in a blowout glennon did still not throw for 250 plus yards in a blowout in a league where qbs regularly throw for 300. Do you know that mike only threw for 200 yards in 3 games out of 13 started this year? Do you know Kyle Orton in his 1 start passed for 300+. I mean Ib like mike glennon I think he could be decent but he didn't play that great Sunday. Just like every other Sunday he played either all right or below average. I think glennon can be a decent spot starter here and there for us but to pull up these stats like he's been playing awesomely this year just isn't truth. Because honestly I'm not so sure if he's better then Kyle Orton right now.
the problem is our staff was so bad and scheme sucked that how can anyone show flashes of brilliance when you have a micro manager breathing down your neck all game.

Do you watch the games or do you just box score scout all Sunday? I'm thinking the latter. I'm loving how your just bringing in random QB's when comparing Glennon. Your comparing YPA from QB's that play in completely different passing philosophies. That's a great comparison bud. Maybe just maybe if Luck ran an offense that was designed for long passing plays, you just might've been onto something.
I asked the same thing! Btw he's prob not better than Orton. Or Josh McCown.
