...having to play a G who might miss a block on 3rd down, or a pass-catcher who might drop a 3rd down pass, which woulld be your poison? Licht chose the former in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the draft; many here would rather have taken the G. I look at it this way; barring a fluke, once the pass-catching target drops the pass, the play is OVER. When a G misses a block, the play is still LIVE. The QB may have to scramble or throw a quicker pass, but that at least gives the offense a chance to save the play. Lovie/Licht and Mayock all are saying we got the 3 best sets of hands in the draft, which is probably what Tedford wanted, based on the extensive Buc history (and it's on film) for the dropsies...
