my god this board would have exploded if gruden came back. he'll never say it, but I bet gruden still holds a grudge against us.  the conversation probably went as far as "hey, jon so we have an opening now....click"" may ultimately approach former coach Tony Dungy about an upper-management position once his son concludes his college career at Oregon"this caught my eye though. I would love to have dungy on this team in any capacity. would really bring credibility and stability to our front office.

Dungy could come here and be our Pat Riley. And I hate the heat with a passion but I respect that guy.

Hopefully that puts to rest forever the "Glazers need to bring back Gruden" argument. They tried. He won't. But I'm actually surprised and a bit glad that they tried. They feel the heat. And I don care if Dungy is the water boy. Get him back into the organization.

Believe the story or not, just the thought of bringing gruden back made me cringe, I feel I would have to stop lurking this board for long time.

Yea for some reason I don't believe this. I think the Glazers had their minds and berate set on Lovie.

Some of our fans feel letting Gruden go was the right move, now we know the Glazers don't share that belief. Considering the lack of resources at his disposal during his tenure here, I'm not surprised Gruden didn't want to come back. He was canned when the Glazers knew he didn't have much to work with in terms of rebuilding the roster. Sure he didn't draft particularly well, but FA is a big part of the league and thanks to McKay destroying our cap we had to resort to bringing in retreads. Once Allen came in and got the cap cleaned up the Glazers stopped spending money, and then fired Gruden. Nope, not surprised one bit he turned them down. Their phone call proved to him what he knew all along, he shouldn't have been fired.

Also, Adam Schefter ?@AdamSchefter 9mLovie Smith’s contract contains the clause that gives him final say over all personnel matters on the Buccaneers' final 53-man roster.

LMAO........This article is a joke. League sources my A$$. Buccs offered Chip Kelly the job before Schiano and we all knew about it. Kelly discussed it openly and publicly. Steve Mariucci was offered the job before Gruden, we all knew about it and Mariucci discussed it publicly. Marvin Lewis was offered the job before Mariucci, and we all knew about it. This reeks of Gruden and his agent fluffing his ego. Gruden has to get his name out there, because he hasn't gotten any offers since 2002.

I can't think of a single person with less credibility on Gruden matters than ABucc. He's like that chick you dumped years ago who still follows you around to tell you how much she hates you.

At least they swung for the fences early and we still ended up with a good NFL coach.

La Canfora pulls this same story out of his ass every few years. It was proven to be totally false the last time he tried it. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81545d1e/article/mutiny-bucs-consider-ousting-firstyear-coach-morris-call-cowher
