Bortles has serious upside. Glennon, doesn't. Glennon is a career back up.
So rookie seasons don't count unless you say they do and they only count how you want them to count. Okay, that is cool, man.
You look at numbers only, you don't look at the actual games.
Nope I don't, I just pull all of the game film pics out of my ass.
If you can't look at the very first picture you posted and not understand how that's on the QB and not the OL then you are the one that's delusional
Totally his fault he got blitzed - http://zippy.gfycat.com/EagerUnawareAfricanaugurbuzzard.webm

Yes it is. And it happened more and more at the end of the season as DC discovered he couldn't recognize it.
Funny he posted the Rams game pressure/sacks. Watch Glennon slowly on those. He has obviously blitz situations and he is not even set up and ready to throw quickly enough. Or he needs to call better protections. Additionally there are WRs running wide freaking open. He has zero ability to side step a rush and make a play and zero ability to physically fend off even a rushing CB as witnessed by those images. The best he could do is roll out and fumble the ball. I am surprised that Quinn didn't break a few ribs on that last sack. That is his problem. He has slow feet and he is a big goofy guy who can't avoid the rush and can't extend a play. The reason I am down on him is because he simply doesn't have the tools to succeed at this level. Sorry but I am not putting all my apples into the bag with the hole in it. If he is the QB I hope he wins every game but I damn sure ain't betting on the Twig Cannon to win us any games. I am really hoping we sign Josh McCown. He had the 3rd highest passer rating of any quarterback last year with over 200 attempts. Behind only Nick Foles and Peyton Manning. Of course he benefitted greatly because of the system and his weapons but he was outstanding last year. I watched every single Bears game last year and Josh McCown was ballin big time. I made some nice cash off of him and would much rather have him on my team. Sign him up.2013 Josh McCown stats:149-224 1,829 yards66.5% comp%8.17 yards per pass attempt13 touchdowns 1 interception11 sacks. And the Bears are known for having a bad OL. In fact if you watched Cutler play behind the exact same OL they look awful. It's amazing what a quick set up and decisions will do for you. Sign him.
do you guys break down other teams QBs as much as glennon? just as a barometer?im not sure why so many get so up in arms over this. glennon had a nice rookie season. no one knows if he is the answer, no one knows if he is not. the QBs in the draft has just as many question marks, and we arent even in position to draft the one we want because glennon helped win us too many games. we do know glennon busts his tail to get better, we do know he is a smart guy.so the real questions about glennon we have no answers to...and so many arent willing to see how it plays out? does glennon play scared or smart? will the game slow down for glennon? will glennon be able to see and/or trust more downfield throws when it does?
can josh mcnown play qb without trestman and his system?
Glennon reminded me of Robosack.

What would be the reaction if we traded Glennon for a 3rd this offseason, and then in the typical fashion of Buccaneer luck , he want on to be a Matt Ryan caliber QB ( which pro scouts compare him to ) , and the rookie QB we drafted to replace him turned out to be a total bust .All because we panicked and didn't follow through to see what we had in this kid in year 2.Just curious how big the meltdown would be , lol .

Anything Glennon could do to improve would be attributed to the new teams coaches so it never would have happened here anyways. Name one successful QB Tampa has drafted and became a HoF QB playing for Tampa. We need to avoid the draft and just pick up a seasoned vet like McCown or Vick. That's all we've had success with so why would that change now?
I've said all along I don't think INTs are all that bad for rookies. The reason Manning threw all those INTs is because he was trying to play like a great QB as a rookie but he wasn't great yet. Glennon threw a low number of INTs because he wasn't trying to play like a great QB. At some point if Glennon wants to be a great QB, he's going to have to try to play like one.
lol, the part in bold -- how in the heck would you know that?
Lol 4real
That's pretty much the argument against Glennon. The low YPA, is because he isn't trying hard enough, the low amount of interceptions is because he being aggressive enough. He is on par with all the greats as far as rookie seasons go but for some reason he is discredited because the others made justified mistakes trying to win games while people think Glennon made mistakes while trying not to screw up. How one could tell this from sitting on a couch watching the game? Even moreso, I doubt if you could tell the difference if you followed Mike around all year. Let's not undervalue Schiano's controlling style of coaching who very clearly emphasised not making mistakes, rather than trying to make big plays. We traded Blount who made plays for us because he would fumble the ball on occasion.Again, I think the game was just to fast for Mike last year. He simply didn't know what he was looking at and didn't know what to do with the ball. The speed of the game, the inexperience and the terrible, slow developing offensive scheme can all be blamed. When I watch mike in college in an offense he is comfortable with, I didn't see the indecision and timid play. I fully expect him to improve next year. If not, we'll draft a new QB next year because we'll have only a few wins again.

Tedford.
can josh mcnown play qb without trestman and his system?
He showed that he has the skills to do it but it depends on the situation. More than likely his stats would not be nearly as good in a new system but he was the 3rd highest rated passer in the entire NFL. Even if he slipped to the 10th highest rated he would be miles ahead of Twiggy. McCown has the skill set. Glennon doesn't. You can upgrade your team in one swift move by signing McCown. And to answer your question yes I can break down other QBs and did so with McCown and Cassel, who I have rated as the top 2 free agent QBs and the only ones worth signing. I can't think of any reason why we would not sign McCown other than money. I am guessing that a few teams could make a run at him. Tennessee and Oakland for sure. https://www.pewterreport.com/Boards/index.php/topic,1313920.0.html

Tedford.
We all hope but in almost 40 years it's NEVER panned out. It's hard to have faith in it happening this time. I sure hope it does but we've been let down so many times even the blue pills don't work anymore! 8)
I guess nobody remembers the preseason? If you didn't know by Labor Day that the O-line had major issues, you weren't paying attention.
To me, this is the point of the thread. The sack numbers were always thrown in the face to those that said the OL wasn't protecting the passer well. The OL really didn't play all that much worse than they have in the past 5-6 years, but the QB was sacked quite a bit more.
Actually, the OL was significantly worse this season. That's the point being made by the poster you responded to. It was bad whether it was Josh or Mike back there. Neither QB played stellar last year, but the line was awful and it was clear even before the season started.
The OL has been awful for years. It's nothing new.
Doug Martin was top 5 in rushing last year. Same back this year looked much different, yes?
