Will be a pretty decent backup in the league.
2,608 passing yards, 19 TDS, 9 INTs, 59% completions, 13 games startedThis is pretty reasonable for a rookie to be honest. I think based on this Glennon is worth another look but with some competition brought in though.
In 2007, Jeff Garcia also started 13 games for the Bucs. His stats were 2,440 passing yards, 13 TDs, 4 INTs and 63.9% completions. He was selected to the Pro Bowl that year with those stats.
Thank you.
Between all the injuries, garbage WRs, crap OL play and crap coaching I have to LOL at people who think they already know his ceiling is backup.

He is tied with Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, and Dan Marino with 8 multi TD games in his rookie season. He did that in 12 starts. If he starts all 16 he eclipses the NFL record without a doubt....... Solid backup stats.
Glennon showed flashes of being a good QB. We should be interested in that but not committed to it. Whatever happens in the offseason we need a Plan B that doesn't result in us winning 4 games next year if we have to go to it. There are guys capable of winning games in the NFL and we need to get one in here in case this is as good as it gets with Glennon.
It will be interesting to see if he grows in his second season, and that appears to be what the plan is.But it wouldn't stop me from drafting a guy like AJ McCarron just for insurance. He could be sitting there at the Bucs second round pick.

My insurance plan better not be another rookie. I want one of the veterans on the market.

I don't think there is that much out there to fill that need. Cutler will want a starting gig for huge jack.

No, not Cutler, if he is here he IS the plan. I'm thinking of the guys, and no I don't have an FA list in front of me, that are the Palmer-esque type guys who are usually floating about. I've already said if TEN doesn't retain Locker he is at least credible.

I really dont want to be one of those teams who has 3 or 4 guys who could be our quarterback lol.

But what's a vet going to do other than win 6 games instead of 4. A unknown rookie has potential to be the man one day.

I hear ya. On a related note, Palmer was money today. Threw for over 400 yards in their loss. He is doing his best to blow up the myth, USC QB's can't succeed in the NFL.

What in the world is the point of a Vet "insurance".So maybe you win a few more games with a guy that everyone already knows isn't the answer?Rather have a rook. At least there is potential upside. Vet is just a waste of time. They aren't much better than rooks anyway.

Glennon is the guy we are gonna try and get to be "the man", and he will need all the reps he can get. The youngster comes in and he will also need reps, cant try and develop 2 because you get none. The veteran punching bag and do more with less work to get him there.I get what you are saying and if a McCaron or Mettenberger is there in later rounds I am interested but early on on days 1 and 2 we need guys who can help.

My thinking is, you start Glennon and, say he doesn't look any good after 4-5 games. You throw McCarron in there and see how it goes. They both would get plenty of work in preseason and training camp.

And what good does having the vet come in do? If Glennon struggles enough to pull him the season is over anyway. All you do with a vet is waste time winning pointless games instead of taking a look at someone who might potentially be a replacement.
