If the Bucs don't take a rookie in the first round then it doesn't make logical sense to spend another QB in the third round. Better off waiting for the 2015 draft where the crop will be better anyways.
Glendon did ok considering he and nobody to throw to or block. And for a rookie who was clearly not ready to play.
2nd half stats on the year....51% completion rate, 6 TDs and 7 Ints, 25 sacks, and 3 fumbles. Quarterback rating of 64. Barf. I'll pass on another season of The Two Quarter Kid.

He is the opposite of Freeman...and yet that doesn't mean any thing about how a QB turns out. Go look at Freeman's 2nd half stats and see how super human (eg comeback victories) he is and yet he is no longer a starting QB.
JDud the cherry picker! If his performance is declining in the 2nd half then it's more than likely the coaching and not him. You would know if you actually played football.
What would bringing in some other team's castoff accomplish? They may save a couple wins, but in the grand scheme of things it accomplishes nothing. If it were up to me I would roll into next season with Glennon and DanO. I would be patient and understand that he is young and will have a few bad games. I would devote all the resources available to improve the team around him. If he does well great- we have our QB. If he doesn't then we have a good pick in what will be a much better QB class.Bringing in a vet that wasn't good enough to hold a roster spot on a crappy team will not do us a bit of good. It will take away reps from Glennon as they learn the new system and it will cost resources we could use to build the team. If Glennon craps the bed next season a Locker type might get a few wins and pull us out of position for a better QB. I will get flamed I'm sure so let 'er rip. I really think Glennon has potential and think we are better served putting resources into a better supporting cast.
Josh Freeman: Given 5 year pass because he is "young"Mike Glennon: Given less than a season
Glennon is going to a look next season, but I agree that we shouldn't proceed without a viable "Plan B". A late-round rookie isn't going to do that. This is why I'd prefer a veteran to be brought in and let the winner take all. All of this, of course, depends on who is coaching the team next season. The new guy, if one is brought in, might have a different philosophy. One that doesn't include a QB like Glennon.
I'm ok with bringing Glennon back, I just want the HC and OC changed...
Yes, we absolutely should have a plan B. All we have to do is look at what happened this season to support that. I don't think we need to draft a QB though. An insurance policy like McCown (from CHI), hell even Orton played a damn good game in relief of Tony Romo. I think Glennon will improve alot during the offseason. All I want to see from a QB is mistake free football. Glennon made his fair share of rookie mistakes, and I think he has what it takes mentally. My knock on Josh from day one is that I thought he didn't have it upstairs. I saw that deer in the headlights look way too often early on. Glennon looks poised, doesn't lose his composure when he makes mistakes.
That said, we need Glennon to become not only a game manager, but a guy that can control the game and make the defense look like swiss cheese. That is what the elite QB's in this league do.

I guess it depends on what you consider elite. By my count there are 4 elite QBs in this league and all 4 of their teams just got lucky. I see no problem with chasing what I consider a good QB, but devoting resources to chase elite won't get you anywhere.

Also, there are several teams in this years playoffs without elite QB's.
He's had a good year. Obviously he looks like crap in the 2nd quarter and when under pressure, but he's a lot more impressive than most rookie QBs. QBs make a big improvement over their rookie year, so we're looking at a pretty good QB if he does.
