100% agree. Licht might be growing too comfortable in his role here and he's had some questionable selections in the draft. The SB Team with Brady was a chance happening. Licht didn't assemble those guys. Brady came here and the rest followed him if memory serves me correct. Licht has done very little successfully here - and I like Jason Licht but the proof is in the pudding when his hands are on it.I'm ok with him going if it means bowles is gone. Clean house.
If they must keep one of the two I'd keep Licht over bowles.
If it was GUARANTEED by ownership that they'd get rid of Bowles, but Licht has to go as well...
...I'm game.
That being said, Licht should be on the hot seat this offseason.
Licht didn’t get to pick our current coach
at the very least, given he brought a superbowl here, gets one more coaching hire
You might as well say San Fran had as much to do with the SB as Jason Licht did LOL
Licht did nothing. SF told Brady no and he came here. Does that give him a lifetime contract?
He couldn't see that Coen was better than Todd? That's on him. 12 years and 100+ losses and counting
Say no to Jason Licht.
teams don’t do what you are suggesting. Glazers likely were the deciding factor on replacing Bowles with coen
Licht didn’t get to pick our current coach
Or the first coach, who was 8-24 in Tampa.
Dirk & BA are on Licht. Lovie & Bowles are not.
What is the logic here? I truly don't understand
That you can’t really hang Lovie & Bowles records on Licht. He didn’t pick them.
He did pick Dirk & BA, so those are on him.
And I’m already on record saying the owners need to put Licht on notice. If he gets the opportunity to recommend the next coach, it will probably be his last.
No, I mean what is the evidence to assign ownership that Lovie and Bowles were the choice of Glazers not Licht
Lovie was hired by the Glazers before Jason Licht was even in the building. You can’t hang Lovie’s record on Licht.
Arians retired on March 30, wanting Bowles to be his successor. That’s way too late in the football calendar year for the Glazers and Licht to have an actual coaching search, so you can’t really hang Bowles record on Licht.
Now Licht is not responsible for team performance with Lovie? Didnt you post the opposite several times?
The team performed similar to the 2014-2019 teams. Those teams all missed the playoffs under 3 different head coaches.
Bucs were completely void of talent at iOL, TE, Edge, ILB.

Ok fair... Thanks.
But Licht extending Bowles and not firing him is his fault

Only difference is the talent gap is due to dead cap. Those other teams had awful FA acquisitions

if extending Bowles prematurely in the summer was Lichts decision, he 100% needs to get fired.
he also likely needs to check into alcoholics anonymous as that would be the second "Yo dude....20 old fashions is too many" coupled with the 2021 draft class
Ok fair... Thanks.

Again, owners make decisions on head coaches. I have no idea where Licht was on the Bowles/Coen debate, but the fact that Licht & Bowles were both extended at the same time points toward ownership.
But I agree, if it was Licht’s recommendation to go with Bowles over Coen and the Glazers listened? GTFO territory

Our latest talent gap is due to bad drafting. Same as the last.

It's partially due to that and the fact that we have zero ability in FA to be competitive.
But also Licht blew 10m on David...
Bowles made Licht blow 20m on Godwin for half a season...

this team is more talented than New Orleans, Atlanta, Carolina, and Miami. We should at the very least finished 10-7 but realistically 11-6
Baker played like shit, the play calling was bad on both sides of the ball.
Do we have the talent of the Eagles? No. BUT maybe only a handful of teams can say they do. They have the best GM in football
The collapse this year had nothing to do with talent and everything to do with play calling, execution, and a few critical bonehead Baker plays. A 10 yard completion instead of Atlanta INT for example and we win that game. Not turning it over 3 times in Miami territory and we win that game.
this team should have at least made the playoffs and the coaching staff lost the locker room
Hell, the NFL gave us many favorable calls on Saturday and we barely won the game.
Grizzard is god awful. As others have said, we look SB bound on the first drive then go full retard the rest of the game.
this collapse had nothing to do with talent
