I’m going to be trying to make sense of this, I can’t think of moving forward missing the best tandem in team history… I understand the thinking that we could catch up when the Ravens were in the low 30’s - but with this defense being incapable of making a stop - and the score hit 41…it was over.

Trading for Mike Williams seems like an obvious choice for me. Give em 6th and make em eat most of the contract.

I'd also consider Hopkins as a possession receiver but he looks pretty cooked

I’d be surprised if they did either of these, or even one for similar caliber elsewhere. Mostly because those players know the state we’re in.

I’m still reeling from the frustration & shock at losing Godwin in a meaningless effort. Mike Evans wanted in this, and we knew he needed rest / we were competing, it happens, no one was going to sit Mike if he wanted to be in there.

Tykee Smith, same thing - we were still banging and it was part of his job.

Godwin & Baker - whatever was wrong with him…

I can’t argue DH statement - were the only looks hospital balls (not just on the last drive either)?

Ravens D was casting voodoo out there last night, We needed to just pull the starters when Baltimore did. I know it’s all rearview - but this was an AFC team that meant nothing - and we were staring at revenge matchup at home with the Falcons, we needed to protect the starters and some point.

if the game was within reach, would Baltimore have rested the starters? Harbaugh is one of the better coaches in the league.

there’s no defending it! Yes the 1.2% that are defending Bowles will say “captain hindsight” over here but that’s the risk you don’t take for this reason right here

a season ending injury for garbage time. Unbelievable.

not saying you have to fire Bowles in season, let it play out now that expectations are gone; but replace him in offseason.

if the offense manages to still score without any receivers, coen needs to be made head coach. I have my doubts on the offense being mediocre now.

I don’t think anyone can predict injuries unless the guy is already injured. If you’re Godwin you also want stats to get paid and a chance to win, just unfortunate really sad to see Godwin have another IR season. If it’s just a dislocation no fracture no nerves, just ligaments that’ll be best case scenario

Weird cuz I predicted it as did others with "why are the starters still in?"

this is year of terrible decissions, let‘s hope for a change, godwin stays, bowles goes and coen becomes a HC. as long as he can do that, of course

no unnecessary lavonte INT vs. falcons, no evans risk 6 days before crucial clash for the south  and no godwin staying in the game any longer than necessary we are 5:2 team that walks into the playoffs. now we are 4:3 and our playoff chances are smaller than ever since TB12 came here.

As soon as Godwin went down last night it made me question his situation going forward....I was a bit critical of him last year(I admit it was from poor use by Cannales, and not diminishing skills).  Godwin was looking like shades of his former self this year, but even with the way he was playing I wasn't so sure about his status with the team for next year. As it stands I believe(without looking it up) that Godwin is owed 29 million in dead cap next year regardless of if he's re-signed or not.  I know that number could be pushed down the road given a new shiny extension, but that tab is going to come due eventually...Part of me was hoping that with this improved play that if he wasn't re-signed that it would net us a decent comp pick if he signed elsewhere, but given the injury suffered last night will he ever recover to anywhere near where he was ?  My question is where do we go from here regarding Godwin?...he's 28 year old, with surgery even with the rest of the season and offseason to rehab will he be a shell of his former self?  will it take 2 years to heal up like it did with his knee(if ever), and if so by that time will he have lost a step?   I legit don't know what to make of this completely avoidable clusterf*ck ..The time for Bowles to pull what he did last night regarding starters would have been against the Lions at the end of the playoff game last year, not in week 7 against a non conference opponent(as has been mentioned ad nauseum) so please fellow Bucs fam give your opinions on how we handle his situation for next year.

Roquan Smith fined $16,833 for hip drop tackle that dislocated Chris Godwin's ankle resulting in a season-ending injury. Chump change for ruining a guy's season.

Many (most?) here were against the league penalizing hip drop tackles

Evans was already injured and they had him out there limping around. It's unfathomable that they didn't have the foresight to save him for the Falcons game which was infinitely more important.

100%

Mayfield -

“I think it was just frustrating for him,” Mayfield said of Evans. “You know, he tweaked his hamstring against the Saints, and kind of played a little bit. You know, he was kind of on a pitch count, to say, and then really, he pushed himself for that Ravens game and wound up, you know, just straining it some more. But he’s in good spirits, as well. And Mike understands that it’s a long season. Obviously, this is his 11th year, so he understands when we really need him. But he’s pushing himself to get back as early as possible.”

The guy that ruined Godwin's season didn't get fined.
