Who is he better than? Based on what? He's done absolutely nothing with his NFL career.Because he's better than the alternative backup QBs who will cost more. Why would another team give up a draft pick for Trask? Productive NFL players get traded for 7th round picks. What would someone trade for Trask who has had an unproductive career?

Not True. Don’t redefine his role. He has never been a starter here yet. But in the meantime he is performing his role beautifully. At this point Trask is OUR *Backup-Oh’shit* QB. His JOB is to be Prepared at ALL TIMES READY TO throw a TD pass to win a game, if the unthinkable happens and Ballerz gets Injured. Trask is the unproven* guy who needs to step in and lead starting immediately. Just imagine the nerves of a guy always on the sidelines during games just hoping or dreading for a tragedy to happen to our Starter. If he’s ready to take the reins, Even Today, then I say he’s a true profession and Has been fulfilling his role privately and most amazingly-PATIENTLY!!!I’ve never heard the guy complain EVER. Props to you Trask. I hope that one day he gets his opportunity to really play.

hey now, you are going to get ridiculed with that rational thinking and logic.
Let's see what do teams look for in a #2?
for a team with their established starter already - they want an experienced back up. This is usually a former starter as you've seen with the Andy Dalton, Marcus M, Mitchell Trubisky, etc. Now for the debatable Debbie's, the argument is not are these guys good but rather what do teams look for in a #2
the other way they can go is a getting a guy that hasn't worked out with their original team and has potential. Dallas did this with their trade for Trey Lance. One might argue that Kyle Trask could fall under this category but i would say these are usually first round picks like Lance, Darnold, Trubisky, Rosen, etc. At a certain point, if Trask trade value is a 6th or 7th round pick and hasn't cracked the starting line-up in 3 seasons, why wouldn't a team just draft a guy 3-4 years younger in the mid to late rounds?
I wouldn't be surprised if Trask latched on elsewhere in the NFL as a back-up but he's likely out of the league in 3 years
Once you get past Cousins, Mayfield, and Minshew, here's the list of FA QBs: Tannehill, Brissett, Taylor, Darnold, Mariota, Winston, Lock, Bridgewater, Huntley, Flacco, Dobbs, Wentz. Those are the best. I'd take Trask over any of those guys. I don't know about you. I guess you wouldn't. Who are your favorite backup retreads from that list? I'd give up a 6th rounder just to make sure Sam Darnold never sets foot on the field for my team.Who is he better than? Based on what? Speaking of which…
When we were 4-7, you said you wanted to start Trask if we dropped another game.
Why was that again?

different circumstances which i am sure even someone of your football acumen could understand
With the season lost and nothing to play for, why not see what he has? The fact that the Bucs didn't even want Trask to have a drive during the season and at moments Bucs offense would be struggling or Baker was hurt should be all you need to know but no you will bring up Devin White or Matt Feiler. They kept Mayfield in because he gave them the best chance to win. I am sure you agree with that point as well.
Then the Bucs started to go on a win streak and beat some competent teams along the way. They saw their points score per game increase and the team appeared to be clicking on all cylinders. They went 5-1 to finish the regular season. Then once they demolished the Eagles, man...that made me smile.
So do you understand how out of playoffs and nothing to play for would be a different circumstance than having our most successful season sans Brady since our first Superbowl? Do you still want Bucs to start Trask over Baker? or are you going to back peddle and say you never wanted that and avoid the question.
With the season lost and nothing to play for, why not see what he has?
But, you definitively say he’s absolute garbage and will be out of the league in a few years.
So, again, why would you want to start him?
different circumstances
Literally the point all last season. An unassailable point to any non-Gator, which is why you start to see the revisionists posts now. Gator Trask fans don’t seem to enjoy the obvious comparison to the Noles Winston’s fans they mocked.
“Good run by Mayfield but he probably had 3 guys running wide open.”

a win-win - we lose and get a better draft pick. Finishing 7-10 or 4-13 doesn't matter from a team building view point as playoffs were out of question. Getting a better draft pick is usually good if the team is crap. the other Win would be the low percentage odds Trask actually did anything with the playing time - with the most likely situation that he'd be ok or mediocre (very pre-season performance like) at best case scenario with you lobbying that he needs another 35 games to truly tell how he'd be.
it's a good thing Baker worked out and the team finished the season like none of us expected they would. if you remember, we wanted Bowles fired and even you claimed to have gotten " an interesting text" on his future. In any event, debate Debby, can you agree with this statement:
"The Bucs are better off with Baker as starter over Trask"

The season wasn’t over tho, it just seemed so at the time. And Ballerz basically resuscitated our season when the odds got interesting. Just in the nick of time, or maybe we would finally gotten to see Trask for real.

clearly not at 4-7, it wasn't. if not evident by that Baker Magic and the Bucs making the playoffs and even winning a game!
but at 4-8, with a loss to the lowly Panthers, yeah it would have been an uphill battle. We would have been a game back of New Orleans and 2 games back of Atlanta with 5 games to go.
with no expectation of the Bucs winning 5 of their last 6, the Bucs would have lost 7 of their last 8 games with a loss to the Panthers and it would have been time to give Trask a few starts
that being said, im not so sure that the Bucs would done that given they would play Baker on one leg over give Trask a drive
The season wasn’t over tho, it just seemed so at the time.
Of course it wasn’t.
That’s the thing Badadingdong (nor his drunk driving sidekick) won’t admit.
He wanted to give Trask a shot because:
- He had zero idea how he’d perform in real game time and wanted to see
- Baker wasn’t getting it done
Which, ultimately is what a lot of us wanted.
That’s when the litigating lush went on his multi-month, drunken, string posts of disingenuous comparisons between Baker and Brady, insinuating anyone that wanted to see Trask in live fire was a “Gator/Trask” honk, Evans wasn’t a true #1 WR, and so on and so on.
Ultimately, Baker played well enough (with an elite game and another good one) to lead the team to top finish in one of the worst divisions in football and a playoff win against an old rival who had one of the biggest internal collapses of the last decade.
So, now the future looks to be Baker and Bowles.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m more concerned about how we go about building the rest of the team via the draft and minimal free agency. And, hopefully, the elimination of the backloaded deals we’ve been doing since the Brady era.
So, now the future looks to be Baker and Bowles.
😟 I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be happy if I'm right. There's nothing dynamic about either one, just ho-hum, that will probably result in a ho-hum season (or two--yikes!).
Baker Delusion Syndrome is so extreme that you guys are trying to get Trask off the roster.
