Some people were pissed off when Amazon was doing Thursday Night.  Well, not me.  I had Amazon Prime.   Besides, the Thursday games were basically extra games anyway.  Unless you get Sunday Ticket you don't watch all the games anyway, so Thursday is a bonus and most people have Prime anyway.  But now Peacock will be the sole broadcaster for one of the Wild Card playoff games.  You know I don't care who broadcasts the game, but I'm not getting eight streaming channels.  What does the NFL think it's doing?  I'm not getting Peacock just to watch one game!  That's going to get a bunch of people pissed off when they go to watch the game and find that they can't.  I am getting mentally prepared right now - there's one game I won't be able to watch unless I go to the sports bar.  Hope it's an AFC game.

$110 Million for one game.  I get it though.  The NFL is by far the highest rated thing on TV, and they want to get the most they can.   But people don't stream eight different streaming services.  NBC is having some games on both Peacock and NBC and one playoff game on just Peacock.  If you want just one game, then get a game that wouldn't ordinarily be on national TV anyway.   They are going to have a game on Black Friday.  Bid for that game.  Nobody has a right to complain, because it wasn't a game that was originally available to them anyway.  But to do it with a playoff game is different.  Most people won't really realize it until the game day and they can't get it.  But for me, screw them.  I'll be OK if I miss one playoff game.

Peacock is super cheap. They have a free version too... some decent things on the app. Free trials available. You only need it for a day.

Yall making a mountain out of a molehill.

I'm more worried about this idea gaining traction and they do much more of it

So, won't Peacock also be on NBC? It's the same company.

So, won't Peacock also be on NBC? It's the same company.

"The Wall Street Journal's sources say NBCUniversal paid $110 million for the rights to air one of the coveted 13 NFL playoff games. The service's exclusive game will be in the prime time slot on Saturday, January 13, making it one of the round 1 "Wild Card" matchups. Naturally, we don't know which teams are playing yet, but the two team's local markets will see the playoff game simulcast on the local NBC affiliate. Only the national viewers will have to deal with Peacock.

To catch every NFL game, you'll now need the local channels: CBS and FOX for the national Sunday games and NBC for Sunday Night Football. On cable TV, you've got ESPN's Monday Night Football, with the occasional Monday game overflowing to parent company Disney's national network, ABC. Four international games and a Christmas Eve game are on NFL Network. Thursday Night Football is now on Amazon Prime, as is the new Black Friday game on November 24. The October 1 Jaguars/Falcons London game is exclusive to ESPN+, and everything not on those services will be on YouTube TV's NFL Sunday Ticket.

got it last week to watch Rays-Dodgers' stream-only game $19/yr special sign-up.....I think it's still available. I believe BOYSOFSUMMER was the code or something like that......going to get utility just from that Rays game and upcoming US Open Golf coverage and French Open tennis all for about the price of a beer at RayJay.  The likelihood that the Bucs will be in that single playoff game on Peacock is probably nil. Besides, the game has to be on local Tampa TV if they do make it.

I despise all these "unique content" companies soaking the public for their entertainment dollars. Used to be we could get most of this content by subscribing to a single cable outlet. F it, there's so much to watch out there now, and one can only watch so much TV. I'll go to a local bar if the game is worth watching.
