Well, b4e, count me as the exception I guess. I'm flat out saying the kid can THROW the ball.I'm excluding everything else and saying he has the arm and wit to withstand the nfl. Some things I think you could argue tebow didn't have.I respect your opinion and understand my take isn't a popular one. Just seeing it how I see it.
I am one that believes a QB can improve with the right coaching. Maybe JFF can be a great QB in the NFL, but what I've seen so far suggests he is a project. I'm not saying he isn't worth the investment, just that I would expect him to put up Mike Glennon numbers in year 1. All these scrambling QBs make some people think that the QB doesn't have to be a very good passer in the pocket. That's simply not true. At the most basic level, JFF is a guy who looks more comfortable outside the pocket than in the pocket and that doesn't work nearly as well as it did in college. I'd be much less upset if we used our 2nd on him than our 1st. I think a 3rd round pick on JFF would be a push in my eyes.

Listen, I'm not trying to invalidate your opinion, but all of the arguments people are making in defense of Manzeil are the same arguments people made for Tebow. He can put on weight, he can improve his footwork, he can learn a different offense than the read option, he can run away from defenders, he's taller than he looks, just take a risk it'll be worth it, any scout who downplays him isn't a good scout, any scout who praises him is much smarter than the rest, he showed he could improve his mechanics, etc.He didn't run a pro-style offense (2WR, 1TE, 2RB), he worked mostly out of the shotgun. Throwing a quick slant pass accurately from under center is MUCH different than doing it from the shotgun in a spread/read-option offense.I just don't think he's going to be successful.
I don't see how you can honestly consider them the same. Tebow was simply unable to throw the ball. Manzeil is very good at throwing the ball. They are nothing alike.
