I haven't posted here in nearly two years, but wanted to see what the talk would be like. It's funny that there are still certain members on here that can't admit what a huge mistake it was to get rid of Gruden after Monte sabatoged the end of the 2008 season to be with his son. Gruden won more games with less talent than any coach I have seen. Some of you can't stomach that fact, even after it became clear that Monte was getting a lot of the talent due ton the Glazers. Gee, CJ or Gaines Adams (RIP)? Tough call there. But yeah, it was all Gruden's fault that the Glazers would give Monte more of the call on drafts and wouldn't fork over the money to get some of the players Gruden wanted to bring in here instead of the cheaper old farts he had to accept. The fact we beat Gruden's old tam, staff, and players in the Super Bowl should have been enough for some of you to get a clue on this.
I think we beat Gruden's team, staff and players because...they were his.
You mean the guys Gruden wanted like Garcia, oft injured Gator Arms Galloway, Albert $100 mil bust Haynesworth. I know you must mean that QB up in Green Bay who Gruden told personally that if he was still on the board when the Buccs picked, the Buccs would Draft him. Are those the players Gruden wanted/didn't want/was forced on him?
Beatles123: "I think we beat Gruden's team, staff and players because...they were his."You also thought Raheem and Dom were building a dynasty. And you bet your life that Raheem would make the playoffs - right before he went on a ten game losing streak.
So how did we beat the crap out of the 49ers and actually manage to beat the Eagles in the playoffs, something Dungy couldn't do? Exactly. Why people actually disliked the guy...I have no idea except maybe from listening to that guy on the radio and reading certain writers. The players Gruden got were the ones he was allowed to have. Why people fail to grasp that point is utterly beyond me. If they had wanted to just get rid of Allen, I wouldn't have cared two bita about it. But getting rid of Gruden was a big mistake. Just go back and look at the rosters for the 2005, 2007, and 2008 seasons and tell me how on earth we went to the playoffs twice and sat there 9-3 before Monte threw in the towel so he could prepare to be with his son.The simple fact is that he was able to win more games with less talent than pretty much any other coach. Remember, Gruden was a tuck rule away from going to the Super Bowl with the Raiders, also. Just admit we made a huge mistake and deal with it. Hopefully we'll get the right coach in here. Maybe it will be his brother. We will see.
Give us chucky back

Gruden is the only HC to ever hand pick his own GM, and you are absurd enough to think he didn't get the players he wanted? If Gruden was any kind of head coach worth the sweat off Dungy's balls, he would have been able to keep his team together to overcome adversity. Kiffin announcing his departure may or may have not been the cause of the team's late season skid, but it seems blatantly convenient to blame Kiffin in hindsight when it was widely reported at the time that his team quit on him after Gruden decided to make a game time switch and start Griese against the Falcons. One of the more pathetic offensive outputs buy the supposed "Offensive Genius!" Good call coach. That game was the first of that 4 game skid. Good thing Kiffin announced his intentions of leaving, or else the Gruden nut latherers wouldn't have anything or anyone else to blame.
Gruden should accept the job and quit the next day just to stick it to you bipolar fans! So many of you called for his head. Don't crawl back Gruhaters!
Ohhh wow.. this one has drawn out some of the Hall Of Terrible posters.
vin buc fan......nah just want to see how much of a rise I get posting something absolutely true from some of these idiots who have no clue on this board......gruden was the best thin g that ever happened to the bucs...... but the glazers let some back stabber talk them out of a really fine coach......look what happened after he left.....happy trails vin buck.
just how much crow would the glazers have to eat to admit they made a gigantic ,rediculous move b y firing on e of the b est coachs in the nfl....and then go ahead and hire him back and give him free reign.
At leest sum uv us ideeuts ,no how two spel ridiculous.
*Indicates popular demand**No one in this topic wants him back*SEEMS LEGIT.
*Was a Dolphin fan when Gruden coached here**Was a Panther fan after that*SEEMS LEGIT
It must be wonderful being Gruden... making millions of dollars watching football, and living off a reputation he didn't do **** to earn.
Yeah, all he did was win a SUPER BOWL! :-*
and have a sub .500 record afterwards
Gruden should have been **CENSORED**canned years earlier. He set this franchise back with the revolving door of aarp players.
Agree. I don't know what the fascination is for some with Gruden. He had a losing record with no signs of getting better, that is why he was fired.

You should also find how the old false narratives have suddenly become fact around here. "Only likes Old QBs" "AARP players"etc...Half the people hating him think Dungy drafted Sapp, Lynch and Brooks.

Your statement would be about as true as saying Allen and Kiffin had any impact on player decisions. Fact is, a guy like Tim Wright would never have sniffed the field under Gruden's tyranny.
