Should we slide Barton guard? Hainsey played well today at center.
Bench Mauch.
They won't but I would...

Kick Hainsey to RG.
Either way, this should be the end of the Mauch experiment.
I’d bench bredeson over mauch

I think Hainsey is better at center than guard.
Barton size makes sense at guard.
Either way be done with Mauch
No, Hainsey shouldn’t replace Barton. That’s an overreaction to a very poor Saints run defense. There is a reason the organization used a first round pick on LT and projecting him at Center, and Hainsey’s poor play for two years was that reason.
Hainsey should replace Mauch.
I feel like Hainsey at RG and Barton at center gives us less than flipping it.
Not because Hainsey is anything close to Barton... But because Barton doesn't lose as much value moving him to guard... Hainsey I don't think bring much for us at guard... Only at center.
That's not going to happen. Barton is the center.I feel like Hainsey at RG and Barton at center gives us less than flipping it.

The Bucs rushed for 277 yards at 7.9 yards per carry. I'd guess about 200 of those were in the 2nd half. The Bucs totally ran roughshod over the Saints in the 2nd half to a level rarely seen in the NFL. What went right with the O-line? That's what I want to know.
I have to rewatch the game, but if I'm remembering right, those Db's on the saints can't tackle. Saints also got some injuries, and they might be physically worn down, that game they had with philly was a war then a lost to the falcons and chiefs, physically and mentally beaten down. Sometimes they dont want it
saints fell apart in the second half, so this game shows us nothing. their defense in the second half looked like eagles
if it werent tod bowles we would have won 50-0
Hainsey had several plays where he was lost but even if you think he played well he’s no Barton and you don’t make that decision any way based on one game against the Saints.
Hainsey I don't think bring much for us at guard... Only at center.
Why? Like Barton, Hainsey was a Tackle in college. There is really no reason why he couldn't play OG.
He may be worse than Mauch there, I don't know. But it's worth a shot at this point.

Their tackling was beyond awful most of the day, but especially in the second half. You could argue that there was some quit in them in the second half.
Dennis Allen has some work to do, on the field and off of it.
I'm cool with starting hainsey over Mauch. I didn't really notice Mauch having a bad game but it would not surprise me if he did and I just missed it.
I understand that they probably ran out of gas at the end. Maybe the DBs can't tackle and Mathieu was ruled out in the second quarter, but the DBs aren't the ones primarily responsible for the line of scrimmage.Hainsey I don't think bring much for us at guard... Only at center.

At the beginning of the game, I think the Saints were all prepared to stop the running game, and the Bucs didn't give them a chance in the first half, passing 32 times, mostly short passes, compared to 7 runs and one scramble. In the second half the running game dominated the Saints. They knew the run was coming, and they couldn't stop it. Tucker was breaking off big runs, but he wasn't getting touched behind the line of scrimmage. A lot of the runs were around the left end. I recall there's a guy named Wirfs who patrols that area. But also a fair amount going through Right Guard where Tucker ripped off several big gains in the 2nd half, right end and only a couple went through left guard on the play by play.
So I'm not a film guy and I don't know who was in the game on any particular play. But just from the play by play on ESPN it seems that when it comes to the guard the Bucs were having success going Cody Mauch's way in the 2nd half, and they were less interested in running behind the Left Guard which is Bredeson. And Bredeson also got hit with a couple untimely penalties. Baker was only sacked once, and he helped that out by getting the ball out quickly and scrambling out of trouble. But it seems like the O-line with Hainsey in the middle was dominant, and the much maligned Mauch was pretty solid if not better than solid. Perhaps if there is any weak spot where Hainsey could be utilized it's Bredeson at LG. So again I'll defer to anyone who actually goes back to watch film which I'm not going to do.
