I’m hoping he has another 43 TD season. That will mean Grizz has locked-in on full time playcalling. I’m not expecting it.

The Buccaneers have done a really nice job of drafting and developing, sprinkling in free agents, and re-signing players like Chris Godwin when needed."

and

explain how the Buccaneers are approaching the top of the NFC

Arians says healthy equals contender

"I don’t think there’s any doubt,” Arians said when asked if the Bucs “are pretty close” to returning to a Super Bowl. “We just got to stay healthy. You know, we had all those injuries in the same position last year at defensive back. But if we stay healthy, I don’t think there’s any doubt the sky’s the limit for this football team. I mean, we got great camaraderie; it’s great energy in that building. And guys are really pulling for each other, so yeah. I think this is going to be a great year.”

i mean obviously he is being a homer and it meant to boost fan morale

he can't be honest and say, "yeah were a slightly above average squad who has won 3 divisions under Bowles despite being a .500 squad"

The team folded last year in the playoffs particularly the offense in the 4th quarter - Baker and Barton mishaps.  That's a bit concerning.  The only thing that makes me feel better about that is Washington kicking Detroits ass

The NFC is pretty weak.  Eagles likely the cream of the crop but Detroit also up there.  It's there for the taking.

The Bucs offense should be top 5 again which will give them a chance but that depends on the play calling and if Coen really was a genius

on defense, it was brutal and lacked talent so enter Morrison, Parrish, and Reddick.  AWJ cant possible be as bad as he was last year?  The defense should be improved but still not sure if it's enough to be Super Bowl caliber.

Last season our defense held the Commanders to 23 points in the playoffs.

Not saying our defense was good, but as you mentioned IN THE PLAYOFFS the Commander put up 45 on the Lions and then 23 against the Super Bowl champs.

The Eagles defense was almost a TD better than ours DURING THE SEASON (pts allowed) and even the Lions defense was a couple points better.

RELATIVE to the SEASON  . . our offense UNDERPERFORMED BY NINE POINTS against the Commanders in the playoff. The Lions underperformed by 2 points. The Eagles BLEW away their season average.

The truth is somewhere in the middle

in that playoff game, the Defense performed close to how they performed all season...which to be honest...was not good enough.  That was not a playoff caliber defense, let alone a championship level defense.

Most blame Todd Bowles but i blame the lack of talent.  The secondary was brutal and our edge pass rush was equally as poor.

I blame Bowles for the poor play call in the comeback game against the Rams in Bradys second year.  That was Bowles.  Last year's defense was more so Licht, rightfully so, prioritizing the offense with limited cap space in the post Brady years.  Needed to prioritize the likes of Baker, Evans, and Wirfs.

Now with a 2nd and 3rd round pick added to secondary and veteran edge rusher added, i would expect we can say that we have the talent now to put up a top 10 defense.

the offense was top 5 offense all year but two brutal plays by Baker and Barton cost us that game.

even so, the defense couldnt get off the field and even if we squeaked by Washington, we would have lost by 10-14 points to the Lions

so the fact of the matter was....the offense lost us that playoff game but the defense would have cost us a chance at advancing further than that....

so if the goal is championship, yeah, i have faith in the offense, assuming the bone headed blunders are limited, but the defense remains to be seen

"On Friday, Good Morning Football Host Kyle Brandt of the NFL Network took on the task of ranking the top three NFC teams capable of knocking off the Eagles this year. After identifying the Rams and Lions as two of those teams, Brandt unveiled his top choice to take down Philly in 2025.

"No. 1. This might be a surprise, but it shouldn't be." Brandt said. "No. 1, I have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers."

""The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are under the radar... they smacked the Eagles last year. Look it up. They smacked 'em!" Brandt proclaimed. "They held Saquon in check, Baker went absolutely nuts. They also knocked the Eagles out of the playoffs the year before. Also, Nick Sirianni lost to them a few years prior when it was a different iteration of the Buccaneers. Eagles fans know that the Bucs always play them very tough."

"Maybe they're not the shiniest, brightest team in the league and they don't have the exposure that maybe the Commanders had last year, and I don't have the Commanders on my list, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been a nemesis for this version of the Eagles and I have them as the No. 1 team that the Eagles do not want to see at the end of the season."

I am okay with the Bucs flying under the radar again.  Another great value 2025 draft that will keep the team from falling back and give them momentum toward a winning season and possible playoff birth.

But really they need Reddick to break out to become outright dominant and Hall to stay healthy! Last year's free agent crop was a huge flop with outside free agents.  Bredeson was the only saving grace and he was by outside NFL standards below average and for the Bucs a good enough stop gap.

Opeta, Vildor and Walker need to show up and provide quality snaps/depth or else the team is back to square one where they were last season. Contributions from rookies is always great to keep these Bucs relevant and competitive.  But these outside free agent have to show up for the Bucs to make a run.  No excuses.

Same here.

Don't mind the perpetual underdog moniker.

IMO, the biggest thing holding this team back was the same as last year.

Head coach.

I think Kyle Brandt forgot that the Eagles were minus A J Brown and DeVonta Smith when the Bucs "smacked 'em" and "held Saquon in check."

But I like that he's picking the Bucs as the #1 threat to the Eagles for NFC supremacy.

Tampa has beat Philly 6 of the last 7 times they have met. That’s ownership. Injuries are part of the game.

Was not entirely sure where to put the thought but after reading the "Voss the Boss" article today all I could do is SMH.

Expecting a linebacker that is already often injured to stay healthy when he already plays a physical position naturally is asinine. At least when he misses a month we have Anthony Walker Jr who I think is decent.

You paying any attention to Anthony Hill Jr. out of Texas? He's already my draft crush for 2026.

I've read about him but have not paid much attention to him. I will definitely keep an eye on that kid because I can see MLB being a hole again next off season.
