What should be done but probably won't be is to check whether or not those Rams' players who walked out onto the field a couple weeks ago with their hands up to help label cops racist have any outrage over what happened yesterday in NY to those cops. What I'd like to see happen is see if Lebron James and other players get asked whether their "I Can't Breath" t-shirts, labeling cops racist, were misguided or if they'd like to make generalized statements about communities in light of what happened in NY to those police officers yesterday Those athletes felt so self-righteous and cool. Instead of wearing t-shirts saying "I Can't Breath," how bout you wear t-shirts saying. "We Support Cops in Bad Situations?" Rather than come out onto the field with their hands up...how bout you Rams players come out onto the field carrying signs saying "We were wrong. Cops are heroes." Sadly, it will not happen because it's in vogue to say cops are racist rather than also look at problems within society that lead to destructive behavior. If the entire NYPD police department needs another year of training in race relations, does this mean all Baltimore citizens need a year of training. You can't say one without the other. If the President and NY mayor and some athletes want to be angry and make sweeping statements at the one, they need to show the same outrage at this. Funny, I don't remember Rams players or others making statements condemning the "What do we want? Dead Cops Now" chants. All this and some will lambaste me rather than admit that cops find themselves in dangerous situations and that what led up to those cops being murdered should stop now.
