The former Arizona Cardinals OC?
Yeah. His offense lead the league in pass attempts and dead last in rush attempts in 2025.
Is the loon still string-posting about this inarguable fact 16 hours later? It's possible that's a new record. I'll get the interns on it.
Way to man up, Biggs!

DARLINGTON - “Of coordinator jobs that Mike McDaniel has interviewed for, the Lions gig was the least likely to materialize,” Darlington tweeted on Monday. “Campbell liked McDaniel a lot, but Lions didn’t view it as quite the right fit for them.”
A Lions person speculates that McDaniels run game is more speed and "gimmick" where Campbell prefers power.
McDaniel's "speed" approach sure seemed a fit with Gibbs.
Good for the Bucs though, I guess
It’s not that easy. McDaniel is likely taking his time with all the head coaching opportunities still available.
Robert Saleh also just got hired in Tennessee, so that will hurt any chances Bucs had at him.
I honestly don’t think McDaniel is a complete home run hire either. Everyone’s all excited about him being Bowles successor? Why? His tenure in Miami was mediocre. He didn’t appear to be a good leader, always joking trying to be the funny guy. I think he brings a weak mentality and culture.
Some guys are just not head coach material.
Who would you rather have at QB? A soft-tissued Tua or Baker? Asking for a friend.

I think it's slim pickings especially with who we have running the thing. I also think we understand that almost anyone even Mike McDaniel who under achieved in Miami might be an upgrade on bowles when all is said and done. Is he for sure? No one really knows but the unknown is better than the known right..
Mike McDaniel who under achieved in Miam
I wouldn't say he underachieved at all. I'd say he started hot then faded because Tua massively regressed.
He turned Achane into a super star.
His defense was consistently bad.

it's an offensive driven league. Having a good player caller and QB are pivotal.
Sure the AFC is bucking the trend this year with New England (defensive minded coach) and Denver (everything is good but the QB) but generally you get there with the Chiefs model (Reid, Mahomes)
There's no guarantee that McDaniels isn't a clown but given we have alot of talent on offense, and seen what Baker can do in the appropriate scheme, to me, hiring Daniels should be our top priority.

Yes, especially with things like the change in KO rules and the growing tendency toward 4 down football. Play calling and QB are huge.
Its pretty interesting though because I think the remaining teams all have higher ranked season defenses than offenses (scoring). Certainly not by much and a good offense helps a defense. But, just by memory a couple playoff games have the losing team underperforming on offense, like the 49ers offense crumbling to the Seahawks defense.
But yes the trend is definitely offense from rule changes on
I would still think McDaniel is a long shot
Hired our ST coach. Danny Smith. Good first step

seems like a good hire from a good organization. Now just need to get McDaniel at OC and maybe Raheem Morris at DC?

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that McDaniel informed the team that he is withdrawing from their head coaching search. McDaniel interviewed with the team earlier this month and was slated to meet with them a second time on Wednesday.
What is the Bucs plan B if McDaniels goes elsewhere?

I've said I don't think McDaniel is coming here, and I still don't think so. If I'm wrong then kudos to the Bucs for landing the big fish. It will show they still have respect around the league.
Dan Pitcher has been OC but hasn't called plays.
Zac Robinson was OC for the Falcons last year which isn't that great of a highlight on the resume.
Mike Kafka.
It's gotta be someone who knows how to call plays. Nobody is here to show them how.
Bowles can't afford for this hire to be a miss obviously.
Just read online where McDaniels will be offered the OC position for the LA Chargers. (Bolt Beat)
Bucs went hard after McDaniels but Chargers made way more sense.
Better coach who is run first
Netter defense
Better QB
It was always going to be an uphill battle
