Greg Aumen just tweeted don’t expect a $20m signing
like what are we playing for next year, a rebuild?
Bucs are playing the comp pick game is what is happening. Fold up this is over before it began.
This is an 8-9 team in a best case scenario right now.
Also the Steelers were not impressed with KG being voted MVP because they didn't re sign him. They just signed Rico Dowdle and they drafted K. Johnson in the third round last year (both bigger backs).

What comp picks?
According to Greg Auman the Dean signing.
Makes no sense really.
Still doesn't justify paying him $7 mil per year.
2 years 14m with 10 guaranteed? It's high but it's not long-term so who cares.
I've watched a lot of Gainwell (oddly enough) and he's a damn good RB with great lower body strength. He can easily fill in at rb1 if Bucky misses time. He can be a two-headed monster.
I love the signing even if he's coming expensive. 2 year deal is nothing.

Dowdle had a great year.
Is every player not resigning an indication they were bad?
One minute we overpaid then next minute Steelers didn't want him.
Which is it?
Steelers didn't make an effort to re-sign him even though he was voted MVP. The problem with KG isn't the player it is that he is a luxury pick up for a team that needs defense. The Bucs and PR staff crying about the Bucs not having cap space but they dropped plenty of money on Otton and KG so far. And yes Otton and KG are overpaid which makes no sense given the Bucs shouldn't be entertaining the idea of throwing money to players that are #2 at best on most NFL teams.
Licht better have something up his sleeve because he lost out on a lot of front seven talent.
Who is left?
There has been a huge run on off ball LBs so there are edge rushers left out there.
Lloyd to the Panthers.
Licht is looking cooked so far if he doesn't pull off a miracle.
And what would we replace Otton with? Otton is a good TE that was underutilized last season. He's not perfect, but he's not a bum either. He just resigned Otton... What the fuck are we doing here?
Has he lost his mind?
Hopefully he's got something better in mind for the offseason beyond resigning our underperforming players.

No he's not. He plays small and has butterfinger hands.
Another .500 season ahead
@firebowles2026 I'm not sure your assessment of Otton is echoed throughout the league. I've been reading he's considered to be a top 10 TE. I'm OK with the Bucs keeping him, and the price isn't all that bad for a top 10 at the position. Plus, he hasn't missed hardly any games due to injury.
