Maybe it's just coach speak
It is. Good on you for recognizing it. Bowles said that same thing weeks ago and nothing really changed.
The same nitwit was fooled by it then, too.
DH, was it “coach speak” when Coen said White was the man?
you quoted that as truth then, right?
:-)

or is this the coach speak
Coen was pretty adamant that the Bucs need all three of their running backs for lasting success.
“It’s a long season,” Coen said. “We are going to need all three of those guys to carry us.
“All of those guys are going to get their reps. At the end of the day, whoever is giving us the best opportunity to win throughout that game will probably get the majority of carries.”
“
@bucsbits now THAT would be a GREAT problem!
it gets lost in all the trolling but that is a point I try to make in the original thread: I am a Bucs fan and a White fan, the best thing for the Bucs it’s for White to excel. I hope he comes back an blows the doors off it
Can’t speak for future but for Monday if all healthy:
Designed first down run plays - Bucky/Tucker alternate drives
third down back - white
designed first down pass plays - white
Designed first down run plays - Bucky/Tucker alternate drives
third down back - white
designed first down pass plays - white
Problem with this, is that it’ll only take about 1 quarter for a DC to figure it out (unless it’s Bowles).
Id sit White against Baltimore to give him an extra week.
Against Atlanta, I’d lead with Tuck as RB1 and spell him with Buck every other series. White is your 3DB every drive.
Mix all of them in a ton of Pony looks.
Start setting a narrative that you can use to your advantage for some gimmicks later in the year.
Agree… the screen plays have already become predictable. Have to start disguising them better, and to begin setting them up early… by not going to them often.
I wouldn’t mind us resting ALL those, like White, who maybe aren’t 100. The AFC games will be an opportunity to start stockpiling some intel, while saving the full roster strength & scheming for ATL & SF.
Cmon guys, stop this shit...
Anyway...
You gotta disguise it. Can't have an rb come in and know you're passing it (unless it's 3rd and long).
I think the best disguise is 2 rb.
I wonder if White can play slot a few plays?
We getting too excited, saints were just depleted and their dbs couldnt tackle. We need to run on a couple more teams. But def got the personnel to work with
Ever hear the saying if you have two QBs you have no qb?
glad that’s not the case for RBs!
Hardly science but JBF poll:
Which Running Back Should Start Sunday, If All Are Healthy?
Bucky -- 66%
Tucker - 24%
White - 10%
;-)
Different RB’s for different situations. For now, they’re affordable, so why not!?
I think the best disguise is 2 rb.
Yep.
Our overall EPA running 21P is the 2nd highest in the league, with the #1 rush EPA by a country mile.
Albeit, small sample size. As, they've only ran 18 plays from that package (vs. 59 from Baltimore, 62 from NO, 113 from MIA, and 139 from SF).
Agree, some of that data is skewed by a couple games, but it’s interesting - what else will be interesting will be to see if Coen does what he inferred at his presser: put each RB in & see how they do?I think the best disguise is 2 rb.

If they were going with the traditional "hot hand" approach and White is still coming back off a foot injury, they might lead with Tucker and Irving (the "hot hands") and then work White in to keep him in the mix and also ease him back.
Who knows if that is who they do it?
