Hi all. I don't post here very much but I thought I'd share this article that was written earlier this season by one of the MMQB staffers at SI.com.It discusses how teams are using less cover 2 as compared to the late 90's and early 2000's, and why this is the case.Interesting tidbits in the article: "More and more, Marinelli and Smith drifted away from Cover 2 over the past two season seasons (in Chicago)" and that Monte Kiffin was only playing cover 2 on 24.2% on opponents passing plays until that point in the season. So even though Lovie is known as being a disciple of the cover2, maybe we'll get a lot more than we expected. God knows we can't generate a consistent pass rush with the front 4 we have now. http://mmqb.si.com/2013/09/25/bears-lions-preview-cover-2-endangered-species/#
