Most mocks have us selecting either O-Line or D-Line with that 2nd round pick. I understand why they would. Those are our two biggest needs after QB which I am assuming we will choose 1st overall. The issue here though is that I don't see any players (in those particular postions) falling to that spot who are worth that pick. I feel like most of the better pass rushers and tackles or guards will be gone. Drafting for need has screwed this team so badly before. I know some argue that certain positons on this team are "luxury" picks at that point (WR due to Jackson and Evans, RB due to Sims and Martin), but outside of DT (McCoy, McDonald, Melton) and LB (David, Carter, Lansanah) and maybe CB, I don't think any positon is out of the question. The two postions I metioned earlier are stacked in thise draft. If Strong, DGB, or Sammie Coates are sitting there I hope we take them. All three of those guys are freaks who need to develop the finer parts of the postion. They can learn so much from Evans and Jackson.Coleman and Duke Johnson excite me in the backfield a lot more than Martin or Sims. I know a lot of people point to the upside of Sims, but Coleman and Johnson who big play runners in college. Martin is a grind it out guy at his best (The Oakland game was an outlier) and Sims didn't look that great last year. Even if Sims is a true game breaker we still need depth. I understand our needs, but this team lacks playmakers badly. I really hope we add some in the draft.
