FREE AGENCYDE Charles Johnson - Veteran 4-3 DE who has played very well over the years and is very familiar with our divison foes, especially our stiffest competition Carolina. Sign him at 2 years and 14 million with 7 guaranteed and a 2 million signing bonus. Let him be the veteran presence we've been missing on the outside. DE Olivier Vernon - Jax wants to make Vernon a rich man, and they have the fire power to do so, even after signing Malik at 12m per year. We will probably have to spend about 11m over 4 years in a contract worth over 50m, most of which front loaded over the next two seasons. I fully believe Vernon has been priority number one for this team in Free Agency.CB Janoris Jenkins - A good, young corner isn't that easy to come by, so I feel it would be smart to pick up the former Gator. He's been a reliable corner for the Rams since entering the league. I like his speed, it's something we haven't had from our DB's in a while. Even Revis was a little slow coming back from the knee injury. Jenkins is a great fit for the fast receivers who always seem to burn us. Sign him at around 7 million per year over 3 years, 25 million in total.S Tashaun Gipson - Safety is a position that we've had really bad luck with. First we try to play Barber at FS which worked out okay[ish] for a season or so.. Then we draft Mark Barron which backfired big time [passed on Kuechly], we've gone through the Dashon Goldsons, the Sean Jones', and the Major Wrights for some time. Now we need to get a reliable center fielder who can play the pass and prevent the big plays down field. Gipson isn't Kam Chancellor, but plays a similar game. He's a poor man's Chancellor, if you will. I'll take that at this point over Bradley McDougald and Chris Conte. Sign him at 4 years 24 million.RB Doug Martin - Went back and forth for a while on this one. I could almost see the F.O. letting Doug walk [using the money elsewhere] and rolling with Charles Sims, Chris Ivory and a rookie like Keith Marshall out of Georgia... But ultimately, you have to set the tone of rewarding good players. You want players to feel like if they dominate and find success they will be paid and kept on the roster. Martin has demonstrated all-pro ability when healthy. Now that we've got something cooking on the O Line the sky is the limit for Dougie and it only makes sense to keep the continuity on offense and sign him. At this point we're simply letting the market determine his value which I feel will probably be around 7 million.RT Mitchell Schwartz - Protecting Winston and strengthening the run game. That sounds like a good plan and Schwartz kills both of them birds with one contract. A young book end right tackle who has been a consistent bright spot on the Cleveland offense. Somehow they let him hit free agency and I would be shocked if the Bucs don't try to reel him in with a 5 year 35 million dollar contract.Other (re)signings: G JR Sweezy [competition for Pamphile/Depth], DE Jaq Smith, S Keith Tandy, CB Jude Abjei-Barimah, LB Danny LansanahDRAFTNeeds in order of importance: SS, WR, DT, LB, CB, G, FB, RB, PRound 1 - WR Corey ColemanFree agency has us set up to take BPA at number 9. BPA is always going to be arguable. For me, once Bosa, Ramsey, Tunstil, Jack and Stanley are off the board, there are a lot of players you can make a case for as far as BPA. For what our offense needs I think Coleman is an ideal pick IF WE CAN'T MOVE DOWN. Coleman has the speed but also is very physical. Reminds me of Steve Smith but with the wheels of an Antonio Brown. We desperately need a guy to replace VJax next year and we can't wait until the last second. Getting Coleman now gives us two WR's who will grow together with Jameis and that O Line for the next decade. Round 2 - DL Johnathan BullardBullard is a guy that's impressed me a lot over the last couple years, especially in 2015. He gets pressure consistently whether from the inside or outside. He's versatile enough to play anywhere along the D Line and has a knack for playing big in clutch moments. I think a lot of Dante Fowler's success in 2014 was due to Bullard's presense [which is why Fowler never had the stats, he couldn't finish what Bullard started]. This guy will be an absolute STEAL and would definitely be worth trading up for. In fact, I think he's worth the number 9 pick, but there's no other team that will probably take him so we can gamble that we can still take him here. Bullard solidifies the defensive line which should once again, finally, be one to fear.Olivier Vernon - Gerald McCoy - Johnathan Bullard - Charles JohnsonJaq Smith - Akeem Spence - Clinton McDonald - Will GholstonCOME ON..........Round 3 - SS Miles KillebrewThe perfect pairing, imo, to what FA Tashaun Gipson brings to the table. Gipson covers the pass and the deep balls, while Killebrew plays in the box delivering devastating hit after devastating hit. McDougald and Tandy can rotate in giving us a pretty good group at S. Killebrew is far from a sleeper prospect as many teams have him on the radar, however with a plethora of other safeties available early Killebrew, coming out of a smaller school could very well be available in round 3.Round 4 - OLB Eric StrikerPass rushing terror. A better version, imo, of Preston Smith, the rookie last year who played pretty well in Washington. A better comparison could actually even be Jaq Smith. Striker is a smaller guy which is why he's not considered a 4-3 DE prospect. Given what Jaq has accomplished in this defense I think Striker could certainly line up on the ground for us often. But more often he would play at Sam. Covering backs out of the flat and blitzing the QB regularly which he has done very well at Oklahoma. Provides the extra beef needed at LB and can be an early contributer excelling in pass rush.Round 5 - RB Keith MarshallRan in the low 4.3's at the combine. Along with Corey Coleman, Marshall gives us a boost of pure speed. He was unfortunate in college with an injury that found him buried on the depth chart behind guys like Todd Gurley, Nick Chubb, and Soni Michelle, 3 damn good backs. Marshall never had a fair chance and thus could be a major steal for whoever takes him in the later rounds. With Dougie and Sims carrying the rock, we need a third option, aside from Mike James and with his speed, Marshall could be an early candidate for the KR position. Imo could be the Bucs version of Dexter McCluster.Round 6 - FB Derek WattTwo running backs after resigning Martin? That's right. We've talked about what Marshall adds to the team. But I love what Watt brings as a FB. I think a lot of teams will pass him off with the notion that his notoriety is solely based on his brother being J.J. Watt. Don't be fooled, Derek is a good football player as well. We don't really have a FB going into the season and Watt makes all the sense in the world to lead block for Martin the way he did for Melvin Gordon when he was lighting it up. Reminds me of a better, more refined Erik Lorig who need I remind you was the starting FB in Doug's rookie year..Round 6 - CB Kevin SeymourSolid CB prospect that played for the Trojans. Never a guy that you would right home about. But a guy who was consitent and did his job. Was not a liability in pass coverage. Willing tackler. Could be a late round gem. Could be a special teamer for life. Worth a shot here in the later stages of the draft.PROJECTED DEPTH CHARTQB - Jameis Winston, Mike GlennonRB - Doug Martin, Charles Sims, Keith Marshall, Mike JamesFB - Derek WattTE - ASJ, Cameron Brate, Luke Stocker, Tevin WestbrookWR - Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson, Corey Coleman, Louis Murphy, Kenny Bell, Russel ShepardOT - Donovan Smith, Mitchell Schwartz, Demar DotsonG - Ali Marpet, Kevin Pamphile, JR Sweezy, Evan SmithC - Joe Hawley, Evan SmithDE - Charles Johnson, Olivier Vernon, Jaq Smith, Will Gholston, Olatunji FatinikunDT - Gerald McCoy, Johnathan Bullard, Clinton McDonald, Akeem SpenceLB - Lavonte David, Kwon Alexander, Eric Striker, Danny Lansanah, Josh KeyesS - Tashaun Gipson, Miles Killebrew, Bradley McDougald, Keith TandyCB - Alteraun Vernor, Janoris Jenkins, Johnthan Banks, Kevin Seymour, Jude Abjei-BarimahK- Patrick MurrayP- Tom Hackett [UDFA]KR- Keith Marshall/Corey Coleman
