This is good news. If Hundley goes high, he'll push another player down toward us and if he drops, he may be an excellent developmental prospect in the 2nd.

Hundley reminds me a lot of Freeman coming out of college..

Whoa, what?  Where is the comparison?  Because they both have strong arms?  Hundley completed 67% of his passes this year, Josh Freeman completed 58% of his passes his final year in school.

+1Hundley is a lock to go top 5 if he comes out.  Wouldn't mind Hundley, Bridgewater, Manziel and Bortles all being off the board before our pick.  Would mean we aren't tempted into picking one of them (new regimes almost ALWAYS go QB when there is not an established one there) AND would also mean someone else drops.

Bortles, Hundley, Bridgewater, Manziel, Carr all could go in the top 10. That would be a historic run on QBs. Are we going to be in on that?

I believe that four of them could go in the top 5, which would certainly help us pick up Matthews, Barr, or Watkins.  I think the 5th would go to Minnesota, if they don't trade up.Frankly, I wouldn't be shocked to see McCarron move up into that group, too.  Greg Gabriel, a former scout who worked with Lovie Smith, likes him a lot, and I don't think he's alone.  People focus a lot on his supposed lack of arm strength, but his mental grasp of the game and his command of his offense make him seem very pro-ready, which is appealing to guys who want to have a dependable QB who won't bust on them and cost them their jobs.  He also may be a better athlete that people suspect.  His workouts will reveal a lot for those who may want to draft him in the top 10.  And if he is an option there, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bucs are interested in him.

Being a west coast Bucs fan, as well as a longtime UCLA season ticket holder, I can probably say that I have seen Hundley the most of anyone on this board. While Hundley does have some great attributes, he simply isnt ready to make the jump to the NFL at this time. He definitely requires more seasoning with regards to his progression and needs improvement with his deep ball. He is nowhere near a lock for the top 10 of the draft of the draft and will probably return to UCLA for one more year

Hundley will go Top 10. Him coming out helps our chances of landing a great player. May be able to stay pat and get Clowney.

Yeah, that'll mean Matthews was picked by ATL instead. To be honest though under Lovie this will probably be our closest to getting a QB in the first round. The Bears rarely picked high so I could see us making a trade to get one of those QB's. Although I'd rather wait to see if Glennon is the guy...just don't think we'll be in position for Jameis Winston or Mariota in 2015.

ATL has to fix that OL more than they need to fix DE. They have no one to block for that 'franchise' QB.

keep telling yourself that.  Just like hàlf this board was convinced the Lions would never draft another WR and CJ would fall to us.

I agree in an ideal situation you'd want him to have one more year. But we can't control that so if he comes out would you rather be a year early or a year late and let another team reap the benefit?

You're going to be in a total shock in a couple of months. He will be talked upon as a top 10 pick after Bridgewater.Unless Hundley bombs the interviews I don't think he will make it past Oakland on draft day.

He is a physical beast, no two ways about it, but he will struggle significantly in the NFL as a passer if he comes out and is asked to play in '14.

Hundley has had pro coaching for his time at UCLA. That will help him a lot on draft day. I would say Cleveland takes him.

I think Cleveland takes Manziel... but I admit, as a fan, I don't know $hit about what is actually going to happen on draft day

I want him about as much as I want I want Bortles. So if he's there in the 4th, let's take the project.

Fine if you don't like him, but the kid isn;t going to declare if he's prjected to go 4th round. He's going to be a Rd 1 pick.

Man, this draft would be even crazier at the QB position if Hundley declares. Imagine if Mariotta wasnt returning to school too.

He will most likely have a steady increase in value if he truly does declare.

This is great news I'm sure hundley will measure well and pass the eye test. I think he's alright but we need manziel another qb that will be put in the consideration for one of the top picks.2 teams in front of us will probably take a qb or hold out hope that manziel will be there at 7 which is doubtful.
