Bucs fans are all over the place with what the team needs and who they should draft at 7. I know teams are shying away from the draft value chart as far as picks are concerned, but 7th overall is worth 1,500. How you feel about trading the number 7 pick to Cleveland for 26, 71 and Jabaal Sheard? 26th is worth 700 and 71st is worth 235. Sheard has a year left on his deal and makes $994,125, in 2014(he has 20.5 sacks in his first 3 years). The Bucs improve their pass rush with a young vet that is eligible for an extension and also get two picks while Cleveland gets another top 10 pick to go with number 4. What are some of your trade Ideas?
id probably pass, although it would give some quality picks
I don't think Sheard translates into a 4-3 DE. I would rather trade back into the middle of the 1st and pick up that teams 2nd.
I've always seen Sheard and Clayborn as similar players...
Is there enough top end talent in this draft to justify trading for #7 if you're Cleveland tho?In this case quantity might win out over "quality"...just my 2 pennies.
Sheard was a 4-3 DE at Pitt and his first two years in the league. Played in the 3-4 last year under Horton.
I would just offer something like a 4th for Sheard and call it a day if you like him that much.

why do people have a misconception that Des in 3-4 can't translate into a 4-3.. rushing the passer stays the same wether you're in a 3-3-5 or a 4-4 or even 5-3…the position that are a little bit more difficult to translate are the outside backers. those guys in a 3-4 have to rush a lot rather then in a 4-3 you play more coverage. normally outside backers in a 3-4 would more likely play DE in a 4-3. with that said pass rushers do their thing regardless .

I agree in that you're probably not lining either up on the left side much. But Clayborn has 25 lbs on Sheard. I just don't see a lot of 4-3 DEs running around at 255. For the OP. My trade down scenario is hoodwinking Jerrah for his 1st and 2nd. Basically the same trade they made to get Claiborne. There are a handful of guys I would not want to trade down if available at 7 unless we got significantly more then 18,43 (or something like that).

I think there are plenty of 3-4 OLBs that could translate pretty easily into a 4-3 scheme at DE. It's harder for me to project a player that is 6'2 255 into that role.
If we aren't taking a QB... I'm all for trading back. Don't like the OP's scenario though.
What would youu do Jdub what team do you think is an ideal trade partner? Made this thread with you and Yucc in mind.
I'm all for trading down, even into the early 20's, but I do not like the value of this proposed scenario. Throw us Jordan Cameron or Alex Mack, maybe we can talk.
I don't have a specific scenario in mind, but there are several. I would even take a future 1st though because if we are trading back, then we are rolling with Glennon... Which means we will probably be looking to draft a QB in 2015 and will need all the fire power we can to trade up. To me, if we aren't going QB in the first round, we should trade back and go TE and OL. Ideally gaining a future 1st and a 3rd from this year.
