Watch the Saints get Adams in a trade.
The Saints have $-95 mil in cap space next year. That's negative. 32nd in the league in cap space for 2025. The It starts with Derek Carr who will take $51 mil off the cap next year, but it's not just him. There's about six over 30 guys who add up to about $180 mil in cap space next year. Lattimore's cap hit is $31 mil. Ramczyk, Kamara, Jordan and Hill all over 30 next year. Add Adam's $35 mil base salary and I'm pretty sure that would be the most expensive over 30 crew in NFL history by far.
Seems this would make it difficult to move on from Carr next season, regardless.
they were supposed to be dismantled by the cap two years ago and they have managed to add more and keep their productive players .Watch the Saints get Adams in a trade.
Yes they manage to keep kicking the can down the road, which works as long as the guys you are paying are actually still good. But how long can Kamara, Jordan and Lattimore keep producing because they're going to keep getting paid. The Bucs bit the bullet and are coming out on the other side. The Saints didn't. Adams is due $35 mil in base salary for 25 and 26. It doesn't seem like theirs any way the Saints could afford him for that price. And if you cut him loose at some point then you wasted a good draft pick to get him.they were supposed to be dismantled by the cap two years ago and they have managed to add more and keep their productive players .Watch the Saints get Adams in a trade.
The Saints are in win now mode with a win now coach, so in that respect they could use Adams. But they could become the worst team in football in a year or two as they try to dig out from their cap hell. Yes worse even than...... yes I'll say it.... worse even than the Panthers!
Adams will join his buddy Kaaron Rodgers in NY.
Eh, the cap is basically a fairy at this point. They have been kicking the can down the road for a decade and I assume they continue to do so.
