What's wrong with ball control passing? That means throwing shorter passes. That is one way to minimize the damage with a suspect O-Line. Why do you have to just hand off?

2017 IAY for Jameis Winston 10.4 yards. That means bad shoulder and all he was throwing 3rd longest passes in the league behind only Deshaun Watson and Drew Stanton. Ryan Fitzpatrick was 8.9.

Who had the shortest passes? Drew Brees was dead last with 6.3 IAY. Amazingly he was near the top in fewest times sacked per game 1.3. Hmm. Aaron Rodgers was near the bottom at 7.0 and his teammate Bret Hundley was 7.2. Maybe that shows a short passing strategy? Wonderboy Case Keenum was 7.6. He was only sacked 1.7 times per game. How did Case Keenum become such a great QB all of a sudden? Hmm..... Could it be.....Satan!?!? Or maybe he's throwing short passes!

So with all the talk about focusing on the running game, why don't the Bucs try a short passing game? We have possession receivers in Howard, Brate, Evans and Humphries. Ronald Jones is supposed to be able to catch passes out of the backfield. Why is Winston averaging over 10 intended yards per pass attempt? And why are we defaulting to the running game when that doesn't work. Throw shorter passes!
