So if Shanny had all the control, why did he not want to trade up for RG3 and yet it happened????
A lot of coaches like to take the credit when things go right and blame someone else when it does't.
Couldnt the same be said for a GM kicking a coach after you already showed him the door?
Did he cackle after saying that? Maybe give a nice, "excellent" while steepling his fingers?
Hahahaha exactly how I read it
Gonna be tough to find a good coach to step into that mess. They are going to have to go with somebody that fell and is willing to do whatever it takes to get back up (maybe Kubiak) or a young guy that wants to try on the big boy pants.
For all the knocks on Mark Dominik, at least he pulled some gems from the practice squad during his tenure with the Bucs. Allen is basically a less skilled Dominik; both know how to negotiate a contract and work the salary cap, but they don't really know how to draft, as the last two rookie classes appeared to be Schiano inspired picks.
Dominik and Allen are as opposite as it gets. Dominik started as a scout and worked his way up the ladder. For better or worse his chosen profession is evaluating football players. Allen went to law school, became a player agent, and then transitioned over to the business side of football. He's never been a scout. He's a numbers and words guy.
