Cove?
Yup, you're right that's where it belongs. I never go there, I just couldn't resist. Sorry. :D
It's very rare that people under the age of 35 watch the news on television anymore. I think it's a generational problem more than anything. That whole "liberal as an insult" thing died about ten years ago to people my age and younger.
As far as just the news, I agree. I've jokingly told some of my older relatives that when they die off things will get better. They grew up in an era where information was presented in a more honest way, they fail to accept that things have changed. When having a discussion with my grandmother about the Zimmerman trial one afternoon, she began by saying "well I was watching the View earlier".......I wanted to puke. Instead of saying the MSM, I should have included all forms of media because that's what I meant. "Progressive" ideas such as abortion, gay marriage, Obamacare and countless other liberal ideas are all mostly supported by the most influential aspect of our society, the media. By media I mean everything, the news, movies, TV shows, music etc. People in this country of all ages have been conditioned to believe liberal ideas are the new majority. When everyone's favorite actor/musician/athlete/media personality supports these ideas, this isn't surprising. What people need to realize is that people in these industries are just like politicians, they're aware of what the new "normal" is, and they know it's career suicide to go against it. This is a little off topic but it's still relevant. For example when Obama came out and basically tried to pit the entire country against Zimmerman with this remarks, how many people questioned it? Not many that I was aware of. This was almost a year before the trial, way before the evidence had been presented, and our president is speaking up anyway? About a cause he knew nothing about? That's irresponsible, but people didn't question it because as has been proven in this very thread, any criticism of a non-white person is automatically considered racist. Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfjB9-TKykM Perfect example of how ridiculous this racism issue has become. Jehmu Green states that it's not only black leaders that need to start speaking up about the problems in the black community, it's everyone that has the platform to do so. Yet what she seemed to forget is the very reason Rivera was having the segment to begin with is because of the back lash from the BOR comments. The solution is to have even white people express their opinions on the issue, but when they do it becomes a national story? Yep, pretty ridiculous. But where do you think this mindset comes from? Directly from what I said earlier in this post, the media (again, all forms) in this country is the most influential component of our society and it's almost entirely liberal. This is why white people can't talk about this subject, and the video I posted is a good example of that. Certain posters on this forum are also a good example of that, there's more than one that cries racism the instant a non-black person says anything critical, where do you think they learned this behavior from? A more honest media, in all forms, and enough people who TRULY want to start making some changes, is what it's going to take. As it stands right now there are far too many people exploiting this issue for their own personal gain, be that money, attention, or any number of selfish reasons. Too much fluff, very little substance.
No, see, you missed my point. We don't care. I don't care if you support gay marriage, Obamacare, or anything else you label as "liberal" "conservative" "labor party" "communist" "wig party" etc. I don't have a liberal bias or a conservative bias. But as soon as someone starts pinning labels all over everything, I know they aren't someone I want to associate with because those labels don't matter.People like me, and there are a lot of us, don't care about what labels people like you apply to things, people or ideas. I don't care if I'm a liberal, communist, fascist, whateverist. I don't care. I care about what's right and what's wrong and couldn't give two shits if it's something Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Justin Beiber, Madonna or any other celebrity endorses, supports, etc. It's a tiresome, boring argument full of hate, bigotry and isolationism. It's old-world and uncivilized.Gay Marriage? Don't care. If two people are in love let them get married. Who cares about their genitals?Obamacare? It sucks. Of course it sucks, it's a Government program. Is it Socialist? Yep, just like police and fire departments. We got those figured out eventually.Abortion? Why is it your business whether or not a woman wants to have a baby? Because you're protecting the innocent? Good. Let's hope that kid doesn't grow up to be gay and fall in love with someone of their own sex or you'll have fucked up everything, huh?

Great post.I still think this should go to the cove but that post was great.
No one is out there defending Beiber . Everyone I know says he's an idiot . However ,everyone knows Bieber isn't a real thug ....kid is a poser . Drop him in the hood and he'd be dead in hours ....not so with a true thug. Simply getting into trouble doesn't make you a thug. For the record Sherman isn't a thug either.
Thug or non thug? Just curious?

He wouldn't be dead within hours. He'd be someone's bitch within 15 minutes.
I've heard Bieber referred to as a little punk on many occasions. And yes a poser as well. Hell I think a poser is a worse insult

Well he had a "Thug Life" tattoo across stomach

I find it incredibly ironic that this diatribe did nothing but confirm how much of a liberal you are. I think the anger comes from knowing how transparent you are. You don't like labels, you make that clear, so it pisses you off that one fits you so perfectly. It's okay, you'll live. You also don't appear to realize that right and wrong are often times subjective. You clearly think I'm wrong about abortion and gay marriage and that you're right. Or more accurately you think I'm a bigot. This is what cracks me up about liberals, while attempting to belittle my use of labels, you use labels. Did you realize that? No, you didn't. On the issue of abortion, it's not my business whether or not a woman wants to have a baby. Though that isn't the real issue here. As liberals typically do, you skipped a key step, accountability. If a woman doesn't want a child, she should either take steps to avoid getting pregnant, or avoid sex altogether. Unfortunately I know women who have had more than one abortion, and because in some situations I was friends with who they were having sex with, I know for a fact protection wasn't part of the equation. Did that stop them from having sex and subsequently having an abortion? Nope, sure didn't. Why? Because in America today people believe they should be able to do whatever they like without consequences. If that "consequence" happens to be a child, oh well...in the trash it goes. At the very minimum they should deal with the nine months of work that goes along with getting pregnant and then give the child up for adoption. But we can't have that can we? We wouldn't want anyone to actually be held accountable, or act in a responsible way would we? Liberals have proven time and again they don't understand those concepts.Regarding gay marriage, are you saying family members who claim to be in love should be allowed to wed? You set the criteria as simply being two people in love, did you not? How about polygamists? Why did you say only two people? What's with the "bigotry" towards a lifestyle you don't agree with? If 13 people all want to get married, why not?If something is immoral you can bet your ass a liberal is for it. Unfortunately you fail to grasp that you believe these things because of the very reason I stated, you've been conditioned to. This reminds me of an argument I once got into with a woman who was in favor of gay marriage but completely against polygamy. She said it was "disgusting" for a man to claim he loves more than one woman. I told her she only believes that because the liberal machine hasn't convinced her it's okay yet. The things she was saying about polygamy is what people used to say about the homosexual lifestyle. The liberal media went to work in that regard and the results are showing today. In 5-10 years there will be a new label the liberal media creates, aimed at those who are against polygamy. People all across America will be arguing for it just as they are for gay marriage today. Liberals believe you should be able to do whatever you want whenever you want. THAT's the problem and people like you do nothing but perpetuate it.
I find it incredibly ironic that
That's as far as I got. I don't care.

thug
I think Sherman hit the nail on the head. It can be danced around forever. But the word thug, I have not heard used once in 4 days? In talks about the hockey game from earlier this week. I don't think he pulled the race card, as much as he was hit with it. If the hockey fight scene unfolded on the basketball court between the Knicks and Nets, thug would be mentioned on Sportscenter for the next two weeks. As it pertains to the hockey game...I'm still waiting.
To compare hockey where fighting is allowed to basketball where it is not, sure as hell means you didn't go to Stanford.
