Godwin has been critical to the Bucs success.  Here are a couple stats that put it into perspective:

"Since 2019, . . .only two NFL receivers have a better catch percentage than Godwin. That’s Amon-Ra St. Brown with the Lions and Puka Nacua with the Rams."

"Godwin ranks fifth since 2019 in YAC yards. Deebo Samuel, Cooper Kupp, Davante Adams and Ja’Marr Chase are the only four receivers who have more YAC since 2019."

Will Egbuka become a Godwin?  He should be BETTER given his draft status.  Will he become a GSN (both OSU, both drafted same position)?

Here's the early comparison:

Godwin's rookie year:

34 receptions. 525 yards and 1 TD

Egbuka rookie year:

63 Receptions, 940 yards, 6 TDs

JSN Rookie season:

63 receptions, 640 yards and 4 TDs

If Egbuka became Godwin he would be a 90+ reception, 1000+ yard and 6 TD  WR.

If Egbuka became JSN he would be 65+, 1200+ yard and  7 TD guy, All pro, center piece of the passing game etc.

Which one is more likely?

I think Robinson will run the offense through Egbuka. So I can see him being more of a JSN type.  This is going to be one hell of a season for our offense if we can have some breaks on the health front.

He can be JSN, they are pretty much the same guy, same build, same good work ethic, same high intelligence, same school, same wr coach in Hartline, same scheme in OSU.

The opportunities just need to be there for egbuka and his ability to win 1on1. One thing I think our offense lacked was the arians deep streak down the sideline, that is something both these qbs in Darnold and Maye are very good at and is a dagger that needs to be in every offense in the league or practiced 5-10 minutes a day. When I would research Mike Leach there would be days he would just have his qbs practice the go ball 1on1 when teaching the air raid. If you have a guy that can 1 on1 on a go ball its unstoppable because if u freeze the safety to the middle fir a quarter sec and just launch it outside shoulder on the sideline. It its all trust no scheming just execution.

Qb's just need to practice the throw and timing with his wr's but when u got it, the no risk it no biscuit can send you to the superbowl. Darnold and Maye both throw a very good sideline deepball

JSN won a lot of his 1on1s on the outside running go's.

The first shots that come to mind with Maye is Hollins vs mccollum 1on1 streak, and Boutte vs the Texans in the playoffs

Lol. No, they're not.

JSN is LIGHT YEARS ahead of Egbuka as an overall receiver.

He's def a better wr from a pure potential standpoint but it's not that far off.

JSN took the logical leap in year 2 after playing third fiddle to Metcalf and Lockett.

Egbuka needs to do the same. They shouldn't be that far off in the end if Egbuka can get over the yips.

And yes play calling was a massive difference. JSN was schemed open a lot, he got open a lot, and they played to his strengths and constantly kept him in rhythm.

Grizz is now a QB coach or whatever in Philly and sitting behind Mannion lol.

I just think that JSN is so much better of a route runner and space creator/separator.

On a completely different level than EE.

EE is definitely closer to JSN because you can see how clean EE routes are.  JSN is able to separate better.  Harrison Jr is better than both because he can separate and run routes.  Lots of damn good WRs have come into the NFC conference if you factor in Nacua and Tet.

I don't disagree but physically they are the same... JSN took the next step but will Egbuka?

Egbuka was a better rookie

Ohio State is WRU. LSU is a close second.

OSU about to put another good WR in the draft this year in Tate... jeremiah Smith good be the first overall pick next year.

I’ll take Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, and Malik Nabors over JSN, Garrett Wilson, and Terry McLauren all day long.

I think he's closer to JSN in my opinion. I hope I am right. More than anything, I hope the combination of Robinson and Mayfield can ignite the offense again. The weapons are there.

JSN is a third year receiver typical the year wrs breakout

Emeka is a rookie.

His time will come and can be just as good. He is what I think he is when I say he was drafted a floor 1k receiver he missed it this year but I still think he’s got it in him and can emulate jsn.

JSN didn’t become jsn overnight he had 60 catches 700

100 catches 1.1k

then 120 catches 1.8k

Do I think 120catches go 1.8 is gonna happen, no but that’s a career year

I think he'll be in the realm of JSN, he's got the talent and the head for it....What I'm hoping is that Eazy E will see how he started the season then flamed out, and that him only getting one vote for ORY will make his competitive edge kick in and drives him to break out in year 2.
