Greg Schiano Says Teddy Bridgewater Reminds Him of Young Joe MontanaBy Danny Webster  Nov 19, 2015Greg_Zpschh3F5T0.JpegGreg Schiano Says Teddy Bridgewater Reminds Him of Young Joe MontanaJohn Cordes/Associated Press Joe Montana has won four Super Bowls and is arguably the greatest quarterback to ever play in the NFL.Comparing anyone to Montana can be outlandish, but if former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano is right about this one, then that will bode well for Teddy Bridgewater and the Minnesota Vikings.Schiano went on ESPN's Mike and Mike (via ESPN.com) to talk some football. In the midst of said football discussion, Schiano compared the second-year Minnesota quarterback to the legendary Montana."This may be a little bit weird, but I look at Teddy Bridgewater, and he reminds me of a young Joe Montana," Schiano said. "He's accurate, he's just mobile enough to give you real fits and he's a smart quarterback. He's got weapons around him. That's why I think his ceiling is sneaky."    That's some high praise. Even though it's from a coach who didn't really succeed in the NFL, that's one of the highest compliments someone can give a quarterback.  The numbers don't jump off the page in Bridgewater's second year under center for the Vikings. He's thrown for 1,810 yards but only seven touchdowns to six interceptions. Bridgewater, however, is completing 64 percent of his passes and has the Vikings sitting at first place of the NFC North through nine games at 7-2."Remember, when Joe was young, people were questioning, 'Could he even play in this league?'" Schiano asked. As of now, the comparisons are too premature. And when it comes to evaluating talent, Schiano might not be at the top of anyone's list. He won only 11 games in his two years at the helm in Tampa Bay, and was more known for sending his defense to disrupt opposing kneel downs at the end of games rather than winning. There's a lot of football left to be played before we see if Bridgewater will be as good as Montana. First thing's first, though: He needs to make the playoffs before any talk of a Super Bowl can be brought up. If Minnesota keeps this pace going, though, then the Vikings won't just be playing in a playoff game. They could host a playoff game and even have a first-round bye. link
