Roy Cummings ?@RCummingsTBO 39sBucs coach Lovie Smith says he likes Mike Glennon but Bucs must consider taking a QB with its first pick (seventh overall) in the NFL draft.Hmmmm...
Combination of both.
They have to consider getting another QB any way they can. They have Glennon and Kafka...
smokescreenyou dont come out and say this out loud unless you are trying to make someone sweat. its almost a certainty that Minnesota will take a QB and we can try and influence them into trading with usat least i hope its a powerplay for more picks
I think if a QB is on board that it is legit they grab one as they only have Kafka and Glennon under contract. But if a team offers a lot of draft choices that is a nice consolation prize.
Yeah, I've been saying this for a while now.Could be a play, but at seven he doesn't have a lot to hide from. A qb will drop there, but the question is who.I want them to move up, but I would be surprised if they did.
Translated to mean we'll take the BPA weighted on positional need. Not smoke - just reality IMO.

This. Other than P and K, we are considering everybody at 7.
It means what we have known all along? If there is someone there we like we'll take them as Lovie is not in any way married to Glennon.

If Dominik was still here Punter would be considered

Think it's meant to push someone else down. If someone falls in love with a QB and think Bucs might pick that QB, they'll move ahead, thus pushing the Bucs real option down to them. That's the only thing I can think of that would prompt Lovie to openly say they are thinking QB
I don't think this was a big secret. Every team knows you can't trust what other teams say about the draft. If a team thinks that the Bucs are thinking about a QB, it is because there is a new HC and GM, and there isn't a definitive answer at the QB position. It wouldn't be because Lovie said this.
I'd be surprised if this was fire....I just don't see Bucs rolling with complete inexperience at the QB position. I think they pick up a vet QB in FA and seek to trade down in 1st round to address OL and TE. I think WR comes in 2nd or 3rd...although I'm hoping I'm wrong (Watkins is the guy I'd go get).
Vikings GM Rick Spielman says he won't "force" a quarterback at No. 8 overall, and would "love" to trade down. It's the tune every general manager worth his salt sings this time of year, but Spielman is in prime position to move down, especially if the draft's top three quarterbacks in Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel and Blake Bortles are all gone by No. 8. This year's class is regarded as one of the deepest in years, so in theory, the Vikes are just as likely to land an impact player in the teens as they are at No. 8.
