And Lavonte/Kuechly will be linked for their careers, just like GMC/Suh. Just the way it is.“@GilArciaTBC: Luke Kuechly: 156 tackles, 4 INTs, 2 sacks, 0 FF, 7 PDs, 10 STF - Lavonte David: 144 tackles, 5 INTs, 6 sacks, 2 FF, 10 PDs, 18 STF”
They were drafted almost 50 picks away from each other. No one but Bucs fans compare them.
That's actually what I was saying. Bucs fans will continue to compare the two for their entire careers.
Troubling that Bucs fans can't distinguish the different between a Mike and a Will LB. By that logic shouldn't we be comparing Mark Barron & Morris Claiborne for the rest of their careers?
So players of the same draft class with exceptional talent who play similar positions cannot be compared because one is a MLB and one is a WLB? I'm actually highly surprised you're supporting the white guy in this thread. And there was a lot of times that David was functioning as the Mike in Schiano's defense.
They can't be compared on every level seeing as they play different positions. Like I said it's like comparing Barron & Claiborne. Please, let's stop with the black/white thing. It's getting old and I'd hope you're intelligent enough to have a conversation not involving race. I don't give a damn what race he is.Would you then consider David to be a MLB?
David is just as much a Mike as he is a Will. He wears the green dot and takes on all those responsibilities....which I believe is the only Will in the league to do that. That is the job of the Mike. In the Nickel and Dime packages, which is a majority of the time...he actually is the Mike. He plays both Mike and Will equally well and that makes him that much more impressive. By the way, David had better stats that Luke this year and was bigger for his team that Luke....but David didn't get one single vote for DPOY. It's a fucking popularity contest that has little to nothing to do with actual talent or performance. It would be nice for our players to get the recognition, but the whole thing is such a joke. It really doesn't matter either way.

So then why are people comparing him to Derrick Brooks, who was not a MIKE? Why isn't he being compared to Shelton Quarles or Hardy Nickerson? And why do people now believe Lovie needs a new Mike for this defense?
Funny how the Kuechly Crew don't want us comparing linebackers , lol . David is better , they mad...

David is obviously not a middle linebacker, but there is a much closer comparison between he and Kuechly than Barron/Claiborne. In some formations David does function as the MLB. And I'll call you a racist if I want to. Race apparently is a valid card to play when it's covenient for you, but when others throw it in your face it's unintelligent? Please.
Hey Boots. DPOY is regardless of position. Besides, no team game plans for him. To be DPOY you should have to be taken into account. Yeah he gets the tackles, but he wasn't even the best player on his defense this year.

Right? Teams were more concerned with the Kraken than Luke.

So why isn't there a MLBOY? All defensive players are grouped together and compared for this award. Therefore, it is completely reasonable that fans compare David and Kuechly. If you watch these two play the game, you'll know which one is better. Kuechly is good, but David is special.

Then why isn't he DPOY (Can't wait for the conspiracy theories)
David is better , bootz mad.
David is better , bootz mad.
Mad? Wrong. I'm glad David is a Buc. You're obviously to stupid to understand that 1 player being great doesn't mean another is bad.
Players who deserved DPOY over Kuechly:Navarro BowmanRobert QuinnLavonte DavidRichard ShermanKuechly is a very very good MLB. He was definitely NOT DPOY. What a joke.
This is very similar to my list of who was more dominant. Also, Alonso from the bills had very similar stats but could not even be named ROY. I read somewhere that the panthers were inflating Kuechly's tackles too.
They were giving him tackles when he wasn't even on the field.
