Well he had a solid excuse with dead cap but this year we have space and he didn't do shit with it.
He chose Bowles over Coen then doubled down on the mistake which created a lame duck setting.
I like the players he got in FA. I like the revamped special teams. But he's addressing tertiary needs not primary.
The only primary need he addressed is Anzalone.
He chose Bowles over Coen then doubled down on the mistake which created a lame duck setting.
He chose JTS over Humphrey, then doubled down by not jumping the Chiefs. He then tripled down by taking Trask. He then quadrupled down by taking Barton.
Just blame Bowles
bowles is ass
Licht is mid
glazers are ass
they all can go
I agree on Bowles.
I am torn on Licht.
I can't agree about the Glazers. They brought two championships. Some teams have never won one. Sure, they didn't build a dynasty like the Patriots... but to call them ass is, IMHO, way to harsh.
According to ourlads and what the Bucs have said you can pencil in Robinson as the new starter in place of the vacated Hall. So Licht has signed two sure fire starters on paper in free agency.
Truthfully he needs three starters in the front seven to consider this free agency period acceptable. And Al-Quadin Muhammad has size and starting experience so by default he is a starter over Nelson IMO.

It's a good signing but I'm not pumping my fist about it
Licht needs to sign another edge, CB and ILB and then the fist pumping can begin. That makes the draft easier for the Bucs to navigate.

Right but who is left?
Huff (retiring according to reports)
Reddick - Never know if he returns
Floyd - Looked good for the Falcons
Gross- Matos - Bucs brass might still like him
Bosa - Still hanging out there but his price tag might be too high for teams
Danna - Looks comfortable going downhill in Spagnuolo's scheme might be worth a look
Von Miller - Maybe...
Jordan - Most likely re upping with Saints
Fowler Jr. - Might be worth a look
Epenesa - Can he play in this scheme?
Ogbah - Up there in age but might have something in the tank
Ebiketie - Younger player with upside
Adding Danna or Ebiketie would help a lot actually as both either one can guaranteed that Braswell is pushed off the roster.
Off ball LBs:
Logan Wilson
Kenneth Murray
Matt Milano
Elandon Roberts
Germaine Pratt
Jerome Baker
Zach Cunningham
Worth a shot to add another vet because going back to LVD is just not moving forward IMO.
They are 100% adding an off ball LB & Edge in the draft. I think they add another vet at ILB and likely a corner.
Gainwell averaged 4.7 yards a carry, had over 70 receptions and was voted the Steelers team MVP. He's the perfect replacement for White and will push everyone in the backfield to be better.
Anzalone was better than Floyd in pass coverage. Plus, his wife is from the area. I like what he said in his presser.
If we didn't draft another player, and we had everyone healthy, this team is markedly better than last years team. Mike leaving sucks but now our offense can run through three very competent wide receivers and have some true traction.
[Gainwell] will push everyone in the backfield to be better.
When Gainwell arrived in Pittsburgh he was asked about the existing RB and in describing his own capabilities he noted the importance of pass pro by saying that the current RB was very good and liked it but he LOVED IT
it was that kind of mindset that paved the way for team MVP.
Hes a good addition

Agree with all this but we have no edge and we are short 2-3 LB.
We also have no depth at corner.
We also don't have a jump ball wr.

They are better but still have holes. They will add another 30 plays before training camp starts. We'll see how it plays out.
