Take the under on W's
Licht will be fired next off-season along with Todd.
the Glazers really f Ed this up. The fans will be out for blood. ANd they'll get it
Otton is a bad player. He was most responsible for the Washington playoff loss. Got his ass kicked all night in the running game and didn’t run his correct route on an RPO which caused Baker to do that weird pull everyone was confused by.
Otton is more medicore than bad if we are to be objective. On most NFL teams he is a solid 2 but no way is he a 1. The problem with Otton is that he is fine in spot duty but when asked to do more he tends to falter. In fairness he did shine that one season but beyond that he is just average in totality of his work.

He was a 4th round pick. I think but most of the top guys are 1st and 2nd round picks. McBride, Bowers, Loveland. Kincaid. Obviously Kittle stands out as a 5th round pick, but that's 4 to 1 lol
A team is not all super stars at every position, far from it. With Evans leaving, the team paid Otton the going rate (?) for someone of his ability. The offense has multiple good receivers, two good RBs, a good QB and, if healthy, a solid O-line . . . and they secured a GOOD TE who can do both jobs . . . key point . . both jobs. If it was about one job we'd have Kieft or Culp.
Otton is not a HOFer. No one is getting cut because of his contract

Can't really argue with any of that..I've said it before, but I didn't want him back at any price. I would have rathered roll with Durham, and Culp over bringing Otten back. It's not that I think he's a terrible or even a bad Tight End, it's just that he whiffs on blocks, sometimes runs lazy routes, and has a knack for having a mental breakdown in the most in-opportune moments that sometimes leads to turnovers going to the other team. I know it's only been one day, but I feel like this team needs a solid signing (preferably Edge ) to show the fanbase that they aren't mailing it in this season. By that I don't mean overpaying for a Hendrickson type player, but I would like to see Chubb signed to bridge the gap and help teach the Rookie Edge rusher that I'm hoping the team will take in the first round next month.

agreed
Otton is clearly a TE2 but somehow this team believes that he is TE1 material
Dallas Goedert or David Njoku would have been upgrades.
and probably cheaper too
with Otton, it depends what he got, but if it was like 3 years, 30M or more...ehhh...i dont see what they see in the guy
It's worth pointing out that Isaiah Likely got 3 years, $40M. So I'm thinking both Goedert & Njoku should get more.
Otton is the face of the disappointing 2025 season with his gifted INTs in prime time (x2)
you get rid of him just to take the stink off what was one of our most disappointing seasons in franchise history
Cade Otton= Todd Bowles
sickening that these are the 2 guys we retain

Licht can redeem himself if he can sign 2 more legit NFL starters in the front seven as he has signed one already. But the money spent on offense so far in free agency is just luxury and waste.

Honestly it is not even that.
That money Otton received could have went to a guard upgrade at LG. I know the team likes Bredeson but it is not the end of the world if Bredeson is your primary backup at guard and center as his contract is dirt cheap. So you fix two problems with one signing at LG (depth and the starting spot at LG).
It feels like the signing of Otton is just treading water or even worse a knee jerk reaction to Evans leaving but I am not willing to go that far yet since there is a lot of free agents out there.
