Dean gave up the completion trying to recreate his prior INTs, but that completion becomes a 63 yard TD because Tykee Smith is playing the angle like a donkey. SR raised it in his postgame article, but alos pointed out that Smith was semi-benched as result?
"Early in the game, Smith got caught on a poor angle while playing a deep half zone. Theo Wease was able to get an advantageous vertical angle on Smith down the left sideline. That created an easy shot play from Dolphins quarterback Quinn Ewers for a 63-yard touchdown on 3rd and 8 when the Bucs were in position to get a defensive stop. Instead, Miami tied the game at 7-all.Smith would seemingly get benched shortly after that play as Christian Izien took over for him for the majority of the game."
Bowles moved Smith to safety at Smith's request. It paid off early and there was an article about Smith's great play, but its been all down hill since the bye. Maybe Smith is part of the breaking of the system that Bowles keeps alluding to? Smith plays a critical role.
a little palace intrigue as the walls crumble down . .
Bowles postgame
“It’s not the leadership failing, it’s the execution — of certain times and doing certain things with certain guys,” Bowles replied. “The leadership has been great. The message has been great by the leaders. We just got to execute at critical times.”
I mean I didn’t watch much of this game today. I quit on team but box score would suggest baker was the biggest issue today

He was. He had more than enough time for most of the day, he just could not get the ball to open receivers. The fumble wasn’t on him, but both interceptions were. One was a horrible throw that probably would have been a TD and the second one was a horrible decision. Another bad day for the QB. The OC could have done a better job, but there were plays out there to be made.
There is really no excuse for the offense to be this bad. Where are the explosive plays we saw at the beginning of the season? It’s largely because of QB play.

yeah Baker is a big concern at this point. The worst thing Licht and Glazers can do is 1 - bring back bowles and his inept coaching staff and 2 - extend baker prematurely this off-season at a premium.
If he wants to get extended at his $35M a year, for another 2 years, then ok but i would think he's looking for the QB market value at 50M plus, we should pump the breaks. I rather pay Baker that money when he shows he's the 2024 Baker with a competent offensive play caller
