Here are some situational stats to make you re-think how this season has unfolded:
On attempts 1-10 yards Winston is completing 63.6% averaging 7.8 yards with 5 TD's and 0 INTs.
On attempts 31+ yards Winston is completing 67.6% averaging 8.3 yards with 7 TD's and 3 Ints
Now onto the intermediate area situational stats:
On attempts 11-20 yards Winston is completing 62.4% averaging 6.8 yards with 1 TD and 2 Ints.
on attempts 21-30 yards Winsotn is completing 63.35 averaging 7.7 yards with 4 TD's and 3 Ints.
Most of Winston's TD's come on attempts 21 yards or more (11 total). There is an elevated risk of Int's though (6).
However, Winston has 5 TD's attempting passes ten yards or less which is the 2nd most and no INTs which is the best for him so far.
Winston's best is clearly attempts 1-10 yards or 31+ yards. QB rating along with comp % and TD/INT ratio all backs this up.

In 2005 Simms was at this best in the attempts of 1-10 yards range with comp % 65 averaging 6.5 yards with 6 TDs and 1 INT.
This makes sense because Gruden designs his offense as high percentage short passes versus Koeter 4 vert offense.
But Simms struggled with attempts 31+ yards as comp% 47.5 3.8 yards 0 TDs and 2 INTs.
Gruden would be salivating at the idea having access to a QB like Winston that can attack the entire field short or long.
