well we HAVE to bring in someone. cutler seems like the best guy that's going to be on the market and he has the potential still to be a really good qb. you can't just draft a guy and expect him to step in and play at a pro bowl level. if I were the glazers I'd hire lovie smith and playing under one of his old coaches might be enough to convince him to sign with tampa. it may not be popular with some of you, but the guy was playing really good ball before he got injured, and if we were to be able to draft clowney and get lovie smith and cutler, the playoffs could be right around the corner. thoughts? unless you guys want to hand it to glennon next year, lol.

Ummm...no.

what a thoughtful reply. would you rather glennon just be handed the job? or do you think we can draft manziel and he can come in and play great right away? anything?

If he plays well tomorrow there is no way that Chicago is going to let him get away. He is looking fro that Flacco, Romo contract though.

its assuming(hoping) he is gone. no free agent is going to want to come play here with schiano. the bears have a ton of guys to resign this offseason and with cutler's injuries they might still be reluctant to hand out a big contract even if he plays well this week. especially if mccown is coming back.

God no. I've watched cutler play for a long time, and for as much as he plays decently he plays badly just as much and has an awful attitude. Every time he is in the playoffs he gets 'hurt' and won't come back in. The Bears had a Super Bowl team a few years back, cutler gets a non serious injury in the championship game, and screws the team. He was a cancer in Denver too. The guy is not worth it. Plus I don't think he will come cheap.

So explain to me how we got VJ, goldson, revis, nicks, etc. the no one will come to play here for schiano argument is straight BS

My guess is he'll be franchised if he doesn't sign with the Bears. If he somehow becomes a FA, I'd look at Houston as a possibility. Their roster window is pretty short at this point.

that was before this season. they aren't going to say it publicly but they know the guy is a loser. nobody wants to play for a loser, unless we are vastly overpaying for them.

Enough with the conjecture. There's no proof. Where's your proof? Your proof is only what you believe. My proof is that they've brought in quite a few talented FA's over the past two years. You throw enough money you can bring anyone in, no matter the coach.

IF Schiano is here next season, I don't see how the Glazers would invest the years and dough needed to sign Cutler for a coach hanging on by a thread. The possibility of the new coach wanting his own guy might shy them away from making this move.

If we go the "let's overpay an iffy vet" route , I'd rather it be Rivers.
