I see a lot of people who are shocked at the firing of Lovie ...but he's 8-24 in the last 2 years. Thats ugly. The dude just didn't have much enthusiasm. He was like a corpse on the sideline. No emotion and Vanilla play calling. This isn't poker. He displayed no passion and even though there was some improvement over last season, I just wasn't able to predict a great future under Lovie Smith. So, I'm not shocked... and frankly, I'm a bit relieved that he's out.Now the question on everyone's mind is "who will be the next HC of the Bucs?". There's one guy I want... and its Jon Gruden. He's the best coach we've ever had imo. He's the quintessential pirate faced Buccaneer. I miss his passion. His confidence. His rough persona. His expertise. His influence over the players. His passion rubbed off on them. He took us to our only superbowl in team history. It makes sense for the Bucs to do whatever it takes to get him back.Apologize, beg, offer him big money, allow him to make draft picks and trades, pay Bon Jovi to serenade him lol. I know that no veteran coach is going to even entertain the idea of accepting the HC job without some guarantee that they will not be fired after 2 years... so do that! Write up a contract that will ensure Gruden that his job will be safe no matter what for at least 5 years. The only reason why Gru struggled in his final years here is because he couldn't get a franchise QB. Well guess what, we've found that QB in Winston. Chucky has what he needs to build a winning team here now.I heard that 2 years ago when we were searching for our next HC, the Glazers reached out to Gruden and he said "no". I hope they try again. The outcome may be different this time. Gru just might be ready to coach again. He still lives right here in Fla. His glory days were here in Tampa. We now have a great young QB to work with.I was watching MNF not too long ago and Gruden mentioned his firing here and he was talking about Winston. He basically said that the Bucs have their franchise QB and the reason why he (Gruden) was fired is because he couldn't find a franchise QB and that he couldn't really blame the Bucs for firing him... so I think his bitterness has subsided. He just might be willing to entertain the idea now (if the conditions are right).I would be so happy to see Gruden wearing the Bucs logo on his visor again. I think it would spark something special in this team as well as the fan base. So, Chucky, if you're reading this, PLEASE entertain an offer from the bucs to resume your place on the sidelines in RJS. It would be glorious.
