JTS with a sack yesterday, but the rest of his play?
It took entirely too long, but JTS has finally been demoted to backup.
JTS became more productive as a backup which is fine because maybe he can focus more on situational plays versus trying to do everything. Diaby has earned increase reps and looks capable of being a full time defender.
Glad diaby finally got the start it seems this thread help spark the trend, but if JTS needed coaching he is too soft and needs to learn to love the contact, his functional strength is weak when he engages and doesn't hold his gaps well. he needs to get use to putting his body into lineman and feel their movement to play tighter in his gaps, he is too much trying to stay clean from the linemans hands. he has to close the space, tighten the gaps and anchor his spots. He needs to come into lineman with intent and power. Its one of the reason he sucks at the run and the pass, he is afraid of contact and beating his body up, and needs to try breaking down the olinemans will snap by snap. He plays like a corner engaging with lineman
With that said Diaby has 5 sacks in 6 games and kancey is very impressive
Also with shaq he lost his speed and burst. He's gotten noticably heavier,he calls it muscle but i say its fat. 30 year old, big contract, big injury, reasonable to lose his burst. Without his burst hes not the same player. I went back and watched his old film, its noticable, he doesnt have "it" anymore. He needs to start seeing less snaps because alot of his sacks came from burst/change of direction/balance all of which was hindered from his injury. I say give Nelson the start and give shaq less snaps. not the same sack barrett
His contract is on the books next year so he'll still be around next year, but I would suggest him to start losing weight get the speed back and adapt his role into a situational pass rusher. He doesn't need to be starting next year on run downs
Im glad Yaya has taken over as the starter. He looks like a steal so far. Watts should start playing more over Shaq. Gotta start playing these younger guys to see what we got in them.
JTS had ridder dead to rights and got taken to the edge, starting to feel bad for him cause hes a young kid probably getting buried in his personal messages, can't judge him to bad on that play if it was one but hes been so soft on so many plays
something about him doesnt scream a physical football player. He needs to gain another 20lbs and learn to love contact and maybe he can save his career
JTS has to learn how to finish and take proper angles. I saw Kancey make similar mistake at some point in the game as well by not staying on his feet These young defenders have to take away escape routes and close the deal.
JTS has to develop his aggression with his hands because he is gifted but not using his gifts to his advantage.
he's brutally bad and not NFL caliber
should not be on the team next year. Tackles like a sissy
I'm no JTS fan but he's been playing the run pretty well this year, per Ledyard.

it was the Ridder TD run for me which made me done with him.

Absolutely should be on the team next year. JTS on a 1 year, $3.6M deal will be great value. High potential for a contract year explosion.

i am pretty sure Ledyard was a big fan of JTS when he was with PR

As long as it’s not as starter. No problem if he wins a starting job but whenever I see him about to make a tackle you know it won’t end well
