You truly believe all of the players in the NFL are judged fairly.
When did I say that?...I didn't.Long jump must be impressive with the way that you hopped to that conclusion.
Even stating that there is an undeniable target on his back is implying that he was at some point unfairly penalized during the season

The post you quoted from me doesn't come close to saying that. The topic of "are all players judged fairly" is something that is exponentially larger than the Goldson pity party that has been going on in numerous threads. No crew calls games the same, so that alone will throw off the balance a bit, game to game. Also, crews as a whole may get a memo from the league office to look out or keep an eye on certain types of hits/plays for a certain week. This would also throw off the balance of fair "judgment"The quote from me is about Goldson and how this thought that he is being targeted by the league is laughable and does nothing more than excuse his penalties as nothing more than the league out to bully him. That isn't the case. I would say that the thought that he is not going to get the benefit of the doubt on a close call, is a reasonable one, but they aren't penalizing him on plays that aren't actually fouls according to league rules. The "he is a target" is ridiculous. All that said, I'm sure you will find a way to misrepresent what I have said above, just like you have numerous other times in this thread. Have fun with that.
I never said 'you said', dummy. I'm simply pointing out what you believe, which is obvious.
Dummy? Lol.surrender pt. 3....and no...what you did was take what I said about one player and pretended like I made a statement about "all of the players in the NFL.Misrepresentation. "You truly believe all of the players in the NFL are judged fairly."That is a strawman. Shall I explain that again for you?
I never said you said jack. See, that's your weak ass game. You put words in other people's mouths, turn them around, and then act like they put them in yours."You truly believe all of the players in the NFL are judged fairly." Congratulations, you can quote my words out of context and use them to misrepresent my actual intentions. Then have the balls to turn around and say that I am the one straw manning you. GTFO.It is clear what I meant.... Not as in that you literally think they are all judged fairly as a whole, but rather, that you think each and every single player is judged in the same manner and without bias between one another. This is an idea you have supported with your own comments throughout this thread. Its obvious that you are stretching your own beliefs for the sake of winning the argument......And by the way, straw man in 'straw man argument' is TWO WORDS..... but, anyway, nice edit.
And, hey, for old time's sake, check this gem out...
Goldson doesn't get treated unfairly by the league.

LMFAO.How is "You truly believe all of the players in the NFL are judged fairly", taking you out of context? That was the ENTIRE point of that post from yesterday. Looks like you might not comprehend what "out of context" means either.Show me what words I "put in your mouth"...I'm not even sure where this "I never said you said" BS is coming from. None of my posts say anything close to "you said I said". I asked you to show me where I said that All NFL players are treated unfairly. You posted a quote of mine in response, that didn't actually say that. I then go on to show you that they aren't close and clarified the statement....Then you come back with "I never said you said" BS....which is something that wasn't even being accused. What's clear is that you took something I said about one player and applied it to the rest of the league in a much larger and broader argument that goes well beyond the Goldson pity party. The only one here actually taking things out of context, making things up, and misrepresenting is you.
And, hey, for old time's sake, check this gem out...
Goldson doesn't get treated unfairly by the league.
He is responsible for the penalties he committed. The only party that is getting the "unfair" portion is the Bucs for having a player that constantly commits such reckless penalties. Is Goldson unfairly penalized by the league? Nope. I firmly stand behind that post. Whether you or anyone else agrees is irrelevant. At the end of the day, there is no way to prove that he is or isn't treated unfairly. It's 100% opinion based. So if you want to claim that my post is a "gem", when it is something that is subjective from person to person, then you go right ahead.
Chace are you saying:1) Goldson was not subject to a different level of scrutiny even with his reputation?or2) he could have been subject to a different level of scrutiny but it does not matter because his penalties were legit under any scrutiny?
My overall point is #2.Secondarily, I don't believe that there is any real evidence that points to #1 being true. I mean sure, I guess it's possible that the league and the refs behind closed doors are rubbing their hands together and letting out evil cackles when thinking about how they are going to let Goldson( and a few other players like Suh) have it this coming Sunday....but I think most of the talk that Goldson is treated "unfairly" just comes from a general frustration with the NFL and how they are enforcing the rules...and here we have a player who is penalized over and over and faces suspensions because of his 3+year history with these penalties. So natural fan reaction is to side with the player. When siding with the player, it's all too easy to jump on the "he is treated unfair" bandwagon, because it alleviates the blame from the player and easily shifts it to the league as nothing more than a witch hunt against Goldson. I call BS...I do so because of the back half of #2.

Thanks, I am pretty much where you are. I agree with #2 and I agree that there is no real evidence for #1, The only exception might be human nature. In other words,I don't think it takes a bunch of refs rubbing their hands together (i.e. a conspiracy) for Goldson to have been subject to a different scrutiny. I think its just human nature, particularly as the season wore on and the fines were happening and appeals were happening. I dont think its unreasonable under those circumstances to assume that referees might focus a bit more on Goldson based on reputation. No way to prove it though.
Well the cackling and malicious rubbing of hands is obvious hyperbole. I don't disagree that officiating crews became more and more aware of Goldson's reputation as the season wore on with the pending suspensions/fines/etc...but I think it's a big leap to say that he was being treated unfairly when there really isn't any evidence other than just the speculation that he is on the league office and the ref's naughty list. I can't really say that I disagree that there may have been a back judge or two that might be watching every move Goldson makes like a hawk...pun intended....but that doesn't automatically mean that he was the victim of more penalties because of a bit more extra earned attention.

oh yeah, I agree that "treated unfairly" is too far
The refs come into the game with the mindset of , " watch out for that #36 , he is dirty " .So anything that happens he will not get the benefit of the doubt. Those flags on him come out without hesitation . They are throwing the flag before the guy even hits the ground , lol . I don't know if it's technically "unfair", because he did sort of earn that reputation , but you can't deny they have a target on his back .
Officiating crews are targettng blatant and violent shots that immediately look like H2H and defenseless receiver shots, across the board. Goldson was penalized at the same rate in '13 with the Bucs as he was in '12 with the 9ers. If there truly were a target painted on his back, then we would have most likely had seen an increase in personal foul penalties...especially when all evidence shows that they buckled down on calling these fouls in an attempt further limit H2H and defenseless receiver shots this past year. Once again, I don't think you can definitively say that this "target" is there without evidence of multiple questionable calls as well as an increase in calls going against "X" player. Now, all that said, I will say that the possibility of him being a "target" off the field is a complete possibility and much more reasonable. His multiple fouls and penalties opens him up to be punished by the league as a repeat offender. That is why he was subject to suspensions, while other players without such a colored history were not considered for suspensions/higher fines.
